Writing - Checked tasks show their completion date as `@done(date)` (on by default, set in Checklist settings). - New keyboard actions: Strikethrough, Blockquote, Code Block, Cut, Add Link, and Plain Text / Rich Text. Delete All is renamed Clear All. - Numbered lists come in five styles (1. · 1) · a. · A. · i.). Code blocks can use backticks or tildes. - Hold a list, divider or code block action on the pill to pick its style. - The keyboard pill holds any number of actions and scrolls. - Return in a nested list keeps the indent. Return on an empty item steps out one level. - Typed and pasted links are tappable; hold one for more, including showing it as a card. - Tag suggestions wait for a letter after `#` and show only when a tag matches. - ⌘+ and ⌘− change the font size. Library & tags - Delete says how many items are selected ("Delete 1 Folder and 2 Notes"). - Tag pages have Edit, a read-only viewer with the tag highlighted, and Delete Tag. - You can tag several notes at once from All Notes, or pick tags from a list in Note Info with Select Tags. - + Tag and + Folder have an X that clears the field, or closes it when empty. - Recently Deleted opens notes and attachments read-only, with Restore and Open. - Read-only viewers show Rich Text, with a Plain Text option. Attachments - New voice memo viewer: transcript, scrubber, skip 15 seconds, rename. - The photo, file and voice memo viewers share one ••• menu with Markup, Extract Text and preview sizes. PDFs page through. - On iPhone, paste photos copied from Photos. - Screenshots and scans go into the note right away. - On Mac, drop files into a note. - Long PDF names keep their .pdf ending. Note Info & settings - Note Info adds Text Count: words, characters, paragraphs, lines and pages. - An "iCloud Updating…" row appears while a note uploads or downloads, and no longer sticks. - New Paper Color and Font Color settings: Black, Charcoal, White or Beige. - Each Storage error has Clear; the list has Clear All. - The ••• button shows a red file icon for a recovered note and a red ! for storage errors. - Print moved into Export; Note Info is first in the ••• menu. Share sheet - Save to a new note or your Pinned Note, at the start or the end. - Choose how a shared link is written, and optionally add transcribed or extracted text. - Switch between Rich Text and Plain Text. - Pictures with a shared link are left out unless you add them. Sync - Edits from two devices are combined line by line, even from an out-of-date copy or a note renamed or moved elsewhere. - A recovered note is only made when the same lines changed both ways, and never twice. - The versions from before each combine are kept for 30 days. - Older versions of the app on your other devices read notes exactly as before. - Attachments iCloud put in a duplicate "… 2" folder move back into their note's folder. - Typing that goes on without a pause is still saved every 3 seconds. - The library rescans far less while you type, and not at every launch. Performance - With 10,000 notes, typing a tag went from 510 ms to 10 ms a keystroke, a tag page from 540 ms to 2 ms, and All Notes from 280 ms to 7 ms. - Search runs in the background. - Large libraries warm up shortly after launch. - Typing with the Black & White or Purple accent doesn't redraw the whole note. - Photos, link cards and thumbnails load in the background; photos resize quickly. - In very long notes, a keystroke reworks only the edited blocks and the note decodes at pauses: under 10 ms at 215,000 characters, from over 600 ms. Mac - Fixes for Start at Login with a hidden Dock icon. - The window buttons fade in when you point at the top bar. - The preview slides more smoothly. - Tab and Shift-Tab indent and outdent list items. - Fixed a blank block when swiping, typing flashes and the title bar line. - Note Info buttons are tidied. Apple Watch - Complications show the *TXT icon, even on tinted faces.
