TypePrism is a font proofing studio for iPhone, made for independent type designers, small foundries and brand studios. Import your fonts, test them in everyday layouts and keep a clear record of each review.
PROOF IN CONTEXT
Try poster, body text, menu and mobile interface samples, or bring your own text. Adjust size, tracking and extra line spacing with sliders, fine controls and numeric input. Each layout keeps its own draft so you can move between scenes without losing your work.
GET CLOSE TO THE GLYPHS
Pinch to zoom and pan across the page. Tap a glyph, or hold and drag to select a range. Inspect advance measurements and guides for the baseline, x-height, cap height, ascenders and descenders. Pink highlights identify missing characters and text rendered with a fallback font.
EXPLORE VARIABLE TYPE
Move through the variation axes supported by each font, including weight, width or optical size when available. See how different settings affect the same specimen. A bundled variable font lets you start exploring right away.
KEEP FEEDBACK IN CONTEXT
Flag spacing, shapes, punctuation, alignment and missing glyphs. Each note keeps the full specimen text, selected range, font build and layout settings. Reopen the proof, add comments and record a dated check on another build while keeping the original review history.
COMPARE FONT BUILDS
Choose current and reference builds, overlay glyph outlines and inspect advance differences. Adjust each side's variable axes independently or match shared axes. Review character coverage and keep font families, revision labels and archived builds organized.
BUILD A REUSABLE TEST LIBRARY
Save your own text sets and generate character-pair samples for focused checks. Search your font library, revisit familiar problem pairs and reuse the same specimens across revisions.
EXCHANGE FEEDBACK OFFLINE
Export a TypePrism review package, pass it to a colleague and import their feedback for review and merging. Repeated imports avoid duplicate notes, and conflicting edits are retained for manual review. Packages include review data and font metadata, without embedding font files.
EXPORT THE REVIEW
Create PDF proof booklets with dimensions and recorded settings, CSV feedback lists and PDF comparison reports. Keep a clear record of what was checked and which details need another look.
OFFLINE BY DESIGN
Paper-inspired canvases, colorful guides and playful letter characters give your proof desk a personality of its own. TypePrism works offline, requires no account and includes local autosave, backup recovery and undo for your latest proof change.
Supports TTF and OTF font imports. Available variation axes depend on the imported font. Feedback is exchanged through review files.
