Ratings and Reviews
Great, but likely NOT what you want!
This is NOT the Unicode app that let's you put the symbols into things. It's a VERY large collection of the Unicode charset. Think of it as a reference book. You youngsters may not believe this, but there are actual printed books of this! If you want to really know what Unicode is, check Wikipedia. I give this app 5 stars because it is what it is. As I write this there are no reviews. I'd imagine soon there will be 1000 ones saying, "it's broke!" Just trying to head that off.
Purchased the app to use specifically with Samantha font because it has TONS of glyphs. Not only can I not figure out how to access the glyphs (even though I selected the font), I cannot find any online tutorials for the app or a way to contact support. I even went to the developer website hoping to gleam more insight. If I could find the help I needed, I would update my review; but as of right now it feels like $5 wasted.

There is a link to send mail to the developers in the “About Unicode Pad” dialog. Also on the website.
App concept is good, but functioning is bad!
Having been an iPhone user for several years, the one thing the device have been lacking is, in many ways, a character map that, like its Windows counterpart, provides additional characters, such as many of the ascii character, not currently available in keyboard usage. When this app was found, my curiosity was peaked and thought I would try it out, especially given that in document compositions, a character map is a great help.
While the app is good in its initial concept, going to use it is incessantly frustrating. When a particular character is selected, the app crashes and I have to pull it up again; only to see it crash again every time I proceed to select a character. I truly wish I good give this app a high rating, but cannot, at least until this crashing upon character selection issue is fixed. Perhaps when, and more importantly, if this issue is fixed then this app will receive a higher rating.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
