Your to-do list remembers everything. Unresolved holds the few things you're actually going to deal with, oldest on top. No account, no sync, nothing leaves your phone. Unresolved is a to-do app that only lets you keep a handful of tasks. Five on the free version, ten if you unlock Pro. When you're full, the Add button switches off, and the only way to put something new on the list is to finish or close something that's already on it. It's built for people who know some of their list isn't getting done. If you're anything like me, the to-do list goes something like this: every morning you write down everything, thirty-odd things if you're being honest, and circle the two or three you actually feel like doing. Everything else carries over to tomorrow, where you'll write it down again. Some of those have been carrying over for months. Unresolved is for the other list, the short one you'd have circled, and it's built so the long one can't grow back. Three rules. Oldest on top. Tasks are sorted by how long you've been avoiding them, so the one you keep skipping is the first thing you see every time you open the app. It doesn't send you notifications about it, it just stays at the top until you deal with it one way or the other. A ceiling. Five tasks free, ten on Pro. When you're full, you have to finish or close something before you can add anything, which is more or less the whole idea. Two ways out. Completing a task means you did it, and it moves to the Resolved page with its milestones intact, so if it turns out you weren't quite done you can bring it back without setting it all up again. Closing one means you're letting it go on purpose, because things change and some tasks stop mattering. Either way the slot opens up. Also in the app: • Milestones. Break a big task into steps and watch the bar fill. Milestones don't count toward the ceiling. • A daily check-in reminder, if you want one, scheduled on your phone. • A Resolved page with your completed tasks, and the option to bring one back. What it doesn't do, on purpose: no tags, folders, projects, due dates, or recurring tasks. Those are the features that turn a task app into a backlog. No account, no sync, no analytics. Your tasks live on your phone and nowhere else. Pro is a one-time purchase that raises the ceiling from five to ten. Not a subscription. I built this for myself, and then let it sit unreleased for months because releasing it turned out to be one of the things I was avoiding. I'm aware that I named it Unresolved.
