I’m 8 weeks into the program and it’s is a great program so far. My coach Brittany is very supportive, organized and knowledgeable. The equipment they send you works great in conjunction with the application. It’s great to be able to track weight, blood pressure and sugar readings all in one place. There are some many great articles and other things to track, what you eat, sleep habits etc. The program has allowed to develop a plan and track my progress. Highly recommend.
Coach aspect great, the app is really buggy
I’ve only been on the app a couple weeks but notice a lot of bugs. The calorie tracking is all over the place and I’ve used both the MyFitnessPal integration and direct Vida app tracking. Unfortunately if you make an edit in either, it seems to not be able to handle the change and either resets your calories or just stops tracking them. They are aware of the MFP bug and I think are working on it but I also noticed it for internal Vida tracking as well. This makes it hard to do daily tracking and for your coach to monitor your progress.
The messaging is also really slow. I’ll receive the notifications and open the app and no message will appear. I’ll completely close the app and reopen and still no messages will be available. I notice it generally takes up to 5 mins to update correctly, this makes conversations with your coach or group really difficult.
So far the coach has been great. Super responsive and kind and I’m looking forward to seeing if after a few months I start to see the changes I’m hoping for.
Vida app needs improvement
I have been using the vida app for a few weeks now and I’m very dissatisfied. The meal calorie calculator isn’t accurate and vida coaches suggest clients to use the Fitness Pal app instead for food log purposes. The connection through fitness pal is done via the Fitbit app (you can only imagine the pain of logging daily stuff into fitness pal, then syncing it to the Fitbit app to then have a most of the time manual sun with Vida). The 3 way sync isn’t automated most of the time and I have to sync manually. Vida only connects to Fitbit and not Apple Watch therefore you have to make some magic happen to use the Apple Watch instead of the provided and simple Fitbit Watch. In summary, I enjoy my coaching sessions but hate to use the application; it really needs to be improved or customer are set on a journey to manage 3 applications at a time. The process is a nightmare.
