Video Vector is a low-res 3D geometry rendering video sandbox, allowing you to create amazing geometric animations with just a few lines of code and exporting them as a video or screenshot. Video Vector does not use a more common WYSIWYG editor to build 3D objects and scenes. Instead it was modeled after the computers of the 1980's... you build everything with nothing more than a simple text editor! You don't drag objects into place... you set their coordinates. You don't grab and stretch curves for animations... you apply equations to their axes. Every object component that is a scalar (a number like x-position, y-rotation, z-scale, line width, RGB color channels, etc) can be made into an expression and dynamically animated.
How does it work?
You create a scene text file. A unique notation was created, concise yet extremely powerful. It might look cryptic, with most markers being a single character, but the symbols are simple to remember and are symbolic representations of the elements they command, such as '_' for position, '/' for rotation and '|' for scale for your basic transform component markers. A large library of functions and variables allow you to hook into many aspects of object geometry, scene space, audio and data files. Refresh your memory on the Unit Circle and you are off to the races creating incredible video assets.
Wait... you said "video assets", not "videos?"
A transparent background and exporting in .mov ProRes 4444 with alpha transparency support was build into the very foundation of Video Vector. You can define a background using a sort of pixel shader, or load a video as an animated backdrop, but where Video Vector really shines is allowing you to create individual video assets you can overlay in other video editing programs. Wish you could apply different filters to different elements instead of the scene as a whole? Simply hide different elements and export each pass as a separate video asset, then layer them back together in your favorite video editor. You are only limited by your own creativity.
Sounds like a tricky learning curve?
It's not as bad as you might think. An extensive glossary, with examples, has been provided to learn the system quickly. Don't let all this scare you! Graph expressions to make sure they are doing what you think they should. I've also included a library of simple geometry builders, allowing you to build complex objects in just a few lines. If you can type 'sphere' and 'grid' you are half way there to building a Synthwave scene for your next album cover!
If you aren't so adept with Math, and a lot of this is scaring you... never fear! Video Vector has also been designed with Agentic AI use in mind. Use Agentic AI, like OpenAI's Codex or Anthropic's Claude Code, to connect to Video Vector and leverage its capabilities through simple prompts. Let the AI agents build the scene for you, learning by example! Ask it to better explain the Scene Text conventions, or how to use Spider Graphics ASM. Any Agentic AI that is able to register an MCP protocol can use Video Vector. Video Vector does not itself contain an AI agent, but if you use one yourself... it can be setup to hook into, and use, Video Vector for you. Helping you build complex scenes and teaching you along the way.
Did you say "Spider Graphics ASM?"
A new scripting language called Spider Graphics ASM was created to allow you to program in an Assembly like language for 3D geometry building capabilities (LOGO Turtle Graphics inspired) allowing you to weave vertices, lines and faces together into complex objects. It gets a little silly but it is capable of recursive geometry building, even capable of forming self-similar fractals, like the Dragon Curve fractal.
If you were a child of the 80's and wished your computer could create wondrous electronic landscapes like you saw in Sci-Fi movies... your childhood dreams have finally come true. Pull out that graph paper, open Video Vector and roll up your sleeves...
