Vipassana Hawaii strives to promote the teachings of classical Buddhism in ways that are relevant to our time. These freely-offered teachings aim at the happiness of total peace through mindful presence with life as it is unfolding: no part ignored or left out.
We aspire to help all those who seek to realize the depths of the Buddha’s path to awakening through the wise application of these practices in our contemporary lives, in relationship to the many human cultures we are a part of, and while remaining deeply connected to this earth we are all responsible for.
Our Teachings
By training our awareness on the observation of all phenomenon that can be directly experienced, our minds have the ability to pierce through the delusions that enshroud us and to abide in the truth of reality in ways that are tender, clear, strong, and wise. These insights into the nature of reality are what lead to the disentanglement and liberation of mind and heart.
The offerings here form a coherent body of techniques of Vipassana (Insight) meditation and of the Brahma Vihara (Divine Abodes) meditations. Our teachings encourage an approach that recognizes the development of all these aspects of wisdom and love as essential to balance, purify, and strengthen one another.
The Buddha taught “ehi passiko”: come and see for yourself. The Vipassana Hawaii app is one powerful way to do just that: to see for yourself there is no limit to the wisdom and kindness you can cultivate and use to nurture each other and the planet toward what is good.
