Plan your machine vision setup: calculate field of view and working distance, choose a lens, explore lighting options and turn saved results into a project PDF.
COMPLETELY FREE. From the first field-of-view calculation to your project report, Vision-Prep brings machine vision planning tools together on your iPhone.
START WITH THE ESSENTIALS
Reach the most-used tools from one place: field of view, working distance, lens selection, resolution and lighting.
CALCULATE YOUR OPTICS AND CAMERA SETUP
Work with sensor dimensions and pixel size, focal length, depth of field, close-up rings, exposure and motion blur, line-scan rate and data rate. Switch calculation modes to solve for the value you need.
EXPLORE LIGHTING
Compare backlight, dark-field, dome and coaxial approaches. Use part and background colours to explore illumination colour and contrast. Calculate illuminated field size, backlight dimensions and strobe duty cycle, then save a lighting trial plan.
KEEP YOUR PROJECT TOGETHER
Save calculations in local projects, add notes and export a technical project summary as a PDF. Share the report using your iPhone's sharing options.
HELP WHEN YOU NEED IT
Open the help button in each tool for explanations and diagrams. Find tools with search, keep favourites close and choose a light or dark appearance.
