Use the Vodia telephone system from home, from the office and from anywhere using your iOS device!
This app takes the VoIP phone to a new level. You can use your iPhone as extension to the Vodia PBX and work from any place that has a decent internet connection. If you like, you can use it in parallel with one or more VoIP phones on your desk.
Users can send, receive and transfer calls. Calls are put on hold when other calls are coming in from other apps. Sending DTMF and muting the audio is possible, and the user can switch between speaker phone, handset and bluetooth devices. It registers for the Apple push notification service to wake it up for incoming calls.
Users can send each other text messages or images. If the PBX is set up for SMS, the user can also send and receive messages to external parties.
Users can see what extensions are available, on DND or in a call. Users can control their DND status manually from the app or automatically from the telephone system, making work/life balance easier. Users review the call history on the PBX through the app. The user can see what voicemail messages are available and listen to them right from the app. The users address book on the PBX is available through the app.
The installation uses a 2D code from the PBX; entering the username and password is not necessary. The app needs iOS 13 to run. The app works best with version 67 of the Vodia PBX.
Phone numbers now appear in human readable format in the device call list. Calls stop ringing after the maximum ring duration set on the server, even if the phone is not able to connect to the server.

We are a small trucking operation in Arkansas, we use the Vodia app everyday. Our truck drivers love calling each and transferring calls but they really love the texting and presence feature. Very good product
It worked very well. The app was simple to install and simple to use.
It works sometimes
I frequently encounter static with this app. When incoming calls come through (often they don’t even come through)the phone goes silent after about ten seconds. I can’t hear a thing. I’ve reached out for help and feel discouraged. I was told this is an AT&T problem. I spent a lot of time going to AT&T TWICE for them to tell me it’s not my phone or my service or anything to do with them.

There are different kinds of static. If it is occasional, it is likely packet loss (which is unfortunately quite common especially in the mobile world). The problem is that in the PBX world, the codec is still from the 1980s where packet loss was not common. Switching to a more modern codec that can handle packet loss better is not easy because every time the audio gets transcribed the quality drops which we also don't want. We have added some packet loss concealment in a later version (not released yet) that reduces the effect a little bit. If it's extremely loud, it's a problem with the encryption which is probably not a problem with the app, but with the setup of the PBX.
You can rule out problems with the PBX itself e.g by using a web browser and making calls from there. If they have the same problem like the app, they need to be fixed on the PBX. This includes problems with AT&T (if they are your SIP trunk provider). If you are using AT&T for LTE, and you are not somewhere deep in the woods with poor reception, I would almost exclude the possibility that AT&T is the problem.
