So yesterday in design
Davis May make great weather station hardware but their software is lame. The iOS version only displays properly on a iPhone not an iPad.
Finally Davis after two years updated the WeatherLink to ver 2.0 well behind all other software. Even with the update, there are few unique features and you a stuck with a basic text display.
Like it a lot
The interface is clean and the weather updates quickly. I know if nothing in this price range that does this. LaCrosse sometimes gives a wind update after 10 minutes while this app on just a second or so.
I love the charts. They show for wind hourly gust and average in same chart. For rain it shows monthly cumulative and hourly in same chart both look great. Also shows barometric and temp charts.
Lots of great information.
I guess if I were to recommend changes it would be charts x axis don’t advance unless you force close the app and open again.
Other suggestion is to offer configurable multiple views so users can compress important information into a quick glance rather than scroll a lot. (Like the web version)
Bravo on such a great weather station and a great app. And the web version is amazing too.
For clarity to others , there are no ads here though I have a subscription above the basic.
Not quite what it should be
Let’s face it... Davis makes great weather stations, but lousy apps. This app looks nice, but the data is spread out so you have to scroll up and down to see it. I much prefer the simpler interface of version 1. Also, this version is only suitable for an iPhone. Viewing the HTML bulletin page in the iPad Browser on the iPad is much better and is preferred at this point. At this point, I’m also using the myPWS app on both my iPhone and iPad since it presents most of the same info in a far simpler interface.
