WireProbe is an API client and network diagnostics tool for iPhone and iPad. It does one thing desktop tools cannot: send the same request over Wi-Fi and over cellular, then put the results side by side.
WHY THAT MATTERS
"Works on Wi-Fi, breaks on 4G" is one of the hardest bug reports to chase, because the two paths are not the same path:
• CDN geo-routing — your carrier's exit IP resolves to a different edge node, or bypasses the CDN entirely
• Carrier middleboxes — some networks rewrite headers, inject content or cache responses
• Different DNS resolvers on each path
• IPv4 vs IPv6 — Wi-Fi often has IPv6, cellular may not
• Carrier QoS — throttling on specific domains or traffic types
Your laptop can never reproduce this: it has no cellular interface. WireProbe binds a connection to a specific interface, runs the request on each network in turn, and shows you exactly where they diverge.
