APPLE FOUNDATION MODELS-AWARE STORY ANNOTATION
- Where available, WolfeWriter uses an Apple Foundation Models-aware local annotation layer to help understand manuscript context before AI assistance is requested. This annotation layer is built for fiction structure: character names, aliases, locations, plot cues, continuity signals, chapter goals, point of view, and story-memory candidates.
- The annotation pipeline is language-aware. CJK and Latin-script manuscripts are routed through separate normalization and extraction paths, so Chinese, Japanese, Korean, English, and mixed-script prose are not forced through one Latin-first parser. Wolfe can surface reviewable story candidates from the manuscript while keeping the writer in control of what becomes canon.
AI ASSISTANCE THAT STAYS UNDER YOUR CONTROL
WolfeWriter is not a chatbot wrapper. AI help is built around the writing workflow: drafting support, rewriting, critique, planning, continuity checks, dialogue passes, pacing notes, and context-aware suggestions.
AI-assisted changes are review-gated. Wolfe can prepare suggestions and proposals, but manuscript edits are not silently applied. You review the result, then choose whether to apply, dismiss, or revise it.

This update fixes release-blocking extraction and generation issues. Imported books now run the same local extraction path used by Plan Board refresh, so Characters, Places, and Items appear after import without requiring a manual refresh. English place names are no longer shown as Characters, concrete fiction objects are surfaced more reliably, and generated chapter drafts no longer fail when a provider includes a leading chapter heading.
