At the center of the workshop, a looping knitting conveyor continuously carries a growing strip of knitted fabric. Around it, wooden spools wrapped in layers of colorful wool await their turn to contribute. Each spool holds its own stack of wool colors, with only the topmost layer exposed and ready to be used.
As the knitted fabric moves along the conveyor, spools automatically begin knitting whenever the color on top of the spool matches the color currently needed on the fabric. Watching the wool unwind from the spool and seamlessly weave itself into the moving textile creates a deeply satisfying flow, as the fabric gradually grows stitch by stitch.
The challenge lies in managing the order of the colors on each spool. Since only the top layer can be knitted, every decision affects what becomes available next. Carefully revealing the right colors at the right moments allows the conveyor to keep moving smoothly, while poor planning can leave the knitting process tangled in a web of mismatched wool.
