Description
YOO Fitness designs, develops and markets affordable activity devices that track activity data which syncs to the YOO+ app on smartphones through Bluetooth Smart technology. The YOO+ app is also integrated with Apple Heath to provide users with the convenient option to share their daily step and sleep data with their Apple Health app. The YOO+ app also leverages gamification techniques to engage users in the YOO Challenge where the New YOO competes against the Old YOO in an ongoing race. The New YOO represents the motivated version of ourselves. The Old YOO represents the unmotivated version of ourselves. In the YOO Challenge the New YOO is awarded points for the steps you take towards your daily goal. However, the Old YOO is awarded points for all the steps you don’t take when you miss your daily goal. The result is an ongoing competition between the motivated and unmotivated versions of ourselves. YOO Fitness is committed to helping users achieve and maintain healthy lifestyle habits.
The YOO+ app is integrated with Apple Health.

Ratings and Reviews
Won’t sync
Just bought this today and everything started out fine. Found the page to sync it, and it wouldn’t connect after 7 minutes of it just sitting on my phone. Bluetooth on, lights going back and forth, etc. So I closed the program and now everything closes out every time I attempt to sync. Tried it on my device that was about 3 years old and my device that’s only a year old, both with recent updates... Really wished it could have worked.
Great app
I think the app works well. It tracks all my data and then presents it in a concise and understandable manner.
The only reason that I am giving it a four star rating rather than a five star rating, is because I have just switched my yoo band and I’m having a little difficulty with the notification settings. Every time I try to turn the notifications on, I get a message telling me that I have to connect my band first. My Bluetooth settings show that I am connected.
I have an email out to yoo and I will edit this review once I hear back from them.
**I have heard back from support and have corrected the problem I was having. Their instructions were exactly what I needed to get everything working. I now give this app 5 stars. **
Not accurate
As I understand it, I’m supposed to wear this throughout the day. I hit the track on my way to work so it’s going to be with me whether I have it in or not. The problem is, driving makes the step count go up. I walked a mile at the track and did walk quite a bit at work, but I drive a lot. I seriously doubt today I walked anywhere near the eight miles it says I did.
Also, there’s no way to set the alarm. Clicking on “alarm” only crashes the app
Developer Response ,
Hi,
When we have customers that comment on extra steps generated from non-step motion we like to explain how "false step filtering" works because it helps to explain questions about accuracy. When step-trackers used to be clipped to a waistband they were better positioned to detect steps. But as consumer preference moved the devices to the wrist manufacturers had to make adjustments because hand/wrist motion isn't the same as "steps". So devices from all brands include what is called a "False-Step Filter". This is logic programmed into the software that requires the sensors to detect a certain number of consecutive steps (or small movements) before confirming that walking is actually taking place. This filters out non-step motion like talking with your hands, brushing your hair, stirring a pot, etc. But it is specifically required to ensure vibrations from driving or riding in a car are not recorded as steps. For YOO Fitness we set the false-step filter at 20 consecutive steps (or consecutive movements). When the false-step threshold is met the band will credit that activity back to step one. All brands set their false-step threshold differently. Some devices are programmed at 10 while others at 30 or even 40 steps. That's why it's difficult to compare devices. We don't have a method to adjust the filter threshold on individual bands but we have tested sensitivity at many levels and as important as it is to filter out excessive steps its also important that we don't under-count which is why we ultimately settled on 20. Typically driving movements are filtered out 99% of the time so hopefully it was a rare and non-repeated occurence. Lastly, the Alarm issue was corrected so should be a non-issue.
Best,
