Make a New File Faster
Create a new file of any type, anywhere.
Whether it’s a text file, a document for your favorite office suite, or a CSS, HTML, or PHP file, New File Menu makes creating a new file—right where you’re already working—as easy as clicking or dragging.
What we love: Control-click in any Finder window to see a list of document types, then choose one to get a new file right there. (You’re even prompted to name the file as it’s created.) Or click New File Menu’s systemwide menu to see a list of templates you can drag to any Finder window.

Quick tip: Customize the available file types in New File Menu’s Preferences > Templates screen. More than 30 are included, but you can add more by clicking the plus sign and choosing a file. Even better, add a document with existing content to use that content as a template for new files.
Meet the creator: Developer Coral Wu has been creating easy-to-use utilities for Mac for over 10 years. His favorite New File Menu feature is the option (in Preferences > Templates) to give each template a keyboard shortcut: Pressing the shortcut prompts you to choose the name and location for the new file.
