Then you move into the most fascinating part: defining your grandpa’s personality. He can be grumpy, sleepy, polite, or helpful—and as chatty or reserved as you want him to be.

Grandpa’s not a bland, automated opponent, but loaded with emotional weight. You even have to “call” him to start a game—which adds a charming touch.

If you’re new to this age-old card game, Cribbage With Grandpas is an entertaining introduction. Play smart to score points, advance your pegs, and beat your opponent to the end of the board.

Although there are lots of other cribbage games on the App Store, none are this heartfelt—or recognize that there’s more to the experience than the rules of play.
