Smash Hit

Smash through obstacles

Smash Hit celebrates the joy of breaking things—specifically, the deep, primal satisfaction of lobbing oversize metal balls at all manner of glass objects, from dangling panes to stationary translucent pyramids.

You would never embark on such a destructive journey in real life, of course, but the game implores you to summon your inner demolitionist and wreak continuous havoc.

The goal is to shatter as much glass as you can before your ammunition runs dry. In this way, Smash Hit bears some resemblance to infinite runners, which also stretch on indefinitely as you rack up distance and points.

The game’s immersive presentation—set to 11 gorgeous, futuristic backdrops with more than 50 unique room types—glides by in smooth 3D from a first-person perspective as an ambient soundtrack plays to the action. And an intuitive control scheme lets you tap the screen to launch your arsenal of leaden spheres at unsuspecting stemware, which splinters with realistic physics.

There are also checkpoints and combos that allow access to special power-ups, like the ability to temporarily rocket an endless supply of balls at delicate objects.

Smash Hit is an App Store classic that shouldn’t be missed.
