Streamline Your To-Do List
Things 3
Organize your life
You can’t finish every task in a day. Thankfully the elegant task manager Things 3 lets you schedule your tasks, so the ones you can’t act on won’t clutter your list (and stress you out) until they’re due.
When creating or editing a task, click the deadline button (which looks like a flag) and select the date the task must be completed by. It will automatically stay out of your Today list until then.
But there’s a big difference between a hard deadline (filing your taxes by April 15) and a nice-to-achieve due date (finishing your taxes a month early). Things differentiates between the two in a way that lets you decide exactly when you need to start thinking about a task.
Click the Jump Start button (which looks like a calendar) and choose a start or reminder date: The task will appear in your Today list on that date and stay there until you finish it, with a badge indicating the number of days until it’s due.
Have a pressing task you need to complete right away? Things can accommodate those, too. Click the Jump Start button and choose Today or This Evening.
