Writing down all your to-dos is the easy part. Figuring out the most pressing task to tackle next is the challenge. That’s why the elegant task manager Things 3 offers so many ways to sort your action items. Here’s a quick tour.

Today
The Today view (Command-2) automatically pulls together tasks from across all the lists you’ve created, showing just the to-dos you’ve flagged with a start date of Today.

Want to set aside certain items until after the workday is done? Assign those a start date of This Evening; you’ll find these tasks at the bottom of your Today list.

Today brings together your most pressing tasks for the day into one view.

Upcoming
The Upcoming list (Command-3) syncs with Apple Calendar for an even broader view. It organizes your scheduled to-dos, repeating tasks, deadlines, and calendar events into a daily agenda. Simply drag and drop tasks to another date to reorder.

Anytime
Assign tasks that are ongoing and can be done at any time to—you guessed it—Anytime (Command-4).

Someday
Someday (Command-5) is the place to park long-term tasks—or those you’ll get around to eventually. They appear with dotted checkboxes so you’ll remember they’re not pressing.
