Named after an Arabic phrase meaning “take care,” Bury Me, My Love is a fictional tale about familial bonds, resilience, and courage. You play Majd, a man forced to stay behind to look after his mother and grandfather while his wife, Nour, attempts to exit a war-torn Syria.
Nour recounts her ordeal via text messages, detailing the sleepless nights and the long lines for blankets. You offer her comfort by sending encouragement and loving selfies.
Nour will also seek your advice. Should she use her limited funds to take a more expensive but less crowded ferry? Which items should she bring along? Each decision can have lasting effects, and it’s never clear what the right answer might be—or if there even is one. Bury Me, My Love has multiple endings, and they’re not all pleasant.
Conversations between Majd and Nour unfold in real time. If Nour’s phone battery dies or she loses signal, you might not hear from her for several real-world hours. Majd’s worry becomes your own—and so does his relief when you eventually get a message notification from Nour.
