You know the drill: You get home after a hectic day at work, open your refrigerator or pantry, and find exactly zero items you feel like prepping for dinner. All that’s there are a few jars of condiments and some sparkling water.
Now’s the time to whip out your iPhone, open up the Caviar app, and decide which fantastic restaurant you want to order from (either for pickup or delivery).
From Michelin-starred eateries to humble local joints, Caviar offers up some of the best meals around without your ever having to talk to a person—and it’s available in an ever-growing number of cities and greater metropolitan areas, including New York, Los Angeles, the Bay Area, Chicago, and Dallas.

Along with a blessedly simple interface that makes searching by cuisine, neighborhood, or specific restaurant incredibly easy, Caviar offers a family-sharing option that allows up to six people to use the same app account. It also has exclusive partnerships with a number of eateries you won’t be able to find in any other food delivery app around: for instance, Eataly and Russ & Daughters in New York, and Destroyer in L.A. The expertly curated list is a great resource, whether you’re at home or traveling to one of the other cities the app services. Plus you can pay for it all using Apple Pay. Caviar also offers special features like one launched in early 2019 that highlights which restaurants and businesses are owned by women. If you’re getting impatient waiting for your food to arrive (and you’re running iOS 12 or later), set up a Siri shortcut in Caviar’s settings to ask, “Hey Siri, where’s my food?” Just record a custom voice phrase and you’ll be able to check the status without even opening the app.
