Explore the Planet with Disneynature

Disney+ is the streaming home to everyone from Cinderella to Darth Vader—and to a cute cast of characters from the real-life animal kingdom.

Since 2008, the independent documentary unit Disneynature has been telling sweet, funny, and inspiring tales about the world around us. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, Disney+ is unveiling three new Disneynature films in April, along with a host of titles from the Disneynature vault.

Here’s a look at the trio of globe-spanning adventures you can stream starting April 3.

This new feature film—narrated by none other than Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex—follows the journey of an African elephant and her son as they make their way across hundreds of miles of desert with their herd in search of a greener paradise. But the path won’t be easy: They’ll have to overcome harsh elements, relentless predators, and ever-dwindling resources if they want to reach safety.

This new documentary, narrated by Natalie Portman, takes you under the sea to a thriving coral reef. There you’ll meet Echo, a young Pacific bottlenose dolphin on the cusp of adulthood. As the film shows, dolphin society is a rich and complicated place, one that depends on its inhabitants to keep it healthy. But Echo, like many young dolphins, instinctively hears the wider ocean’s call of adventure, and over the course of the film he must decide where he truly belongs.

This 2019 film, originally released in IMAX, is a gorgeous coming-of-age story that just happens to star a lot of penguins. The movie follows one named Steve who joins millions of fellow Antarctic males on a quest to build a home, find a life partner, and start a family. This being Antarctica, he’ll have to navigate not only brutal conditions but hungry killer whales and ferocious leopard seals.
