What’s New in Game Center
For more than a decade, Game Center has connected iOS gamers and logged their epic scores and achievements. And with iOS 14, it’s gotten a huge upgrade. Here’s a tour of the newly revamped Game Center.
A fresh look
Out with the old, in with the new! A gorgeous redesign puts all your essential info—friends lists, gamers you’ve recently played with, and achievements for all your games—into one handy spot. To find it, go to Settings > Game Center on your device.
Badges of honor
Achievements have a slick new look of their own—they’re colorful collectible badges that celebrate your gaming prowess. And it’s easier to tell at a glance how you’re faring on in-progress achievements, like winning 50 levels in a day in SpongeBob: Krusty Cook-Off.
Follow the leaderboard
High-score chasers will love the addition of recurring leaderboards. These refresh at set times to allow for special tournaments and more shots at top spots. Plus, friends-only leaderboards will show how you’re faring against the folks who matter most.
Friends forever
But why stop there? With Game Center in iOS 14, it’s easier than ever to pore over your pals’ achievements—and quickly see which games they’re playing, whether you’re on the App Store or inside Game Center itself. Jump in and join the party!
