When it comes to meal planning, there’s a lot to keep track of. To save your time and efforts for the good stuff (a.k.a. eating), consider Crouton, a hybrid meal planner and recipe organizer, scanner, and scaler.
What we love: How simplicity is at the heart of the app! You can upload recipes from anywhere—websites, recipe books, blogs, you name it. The app’s AI Import feature also enables you to upload a recipe from a single photo with no manual entry required.

Quick tip: To help you avoid the feeling of leaving the grocery store without that key ingredient, Crouton can create shopping lists based on your recipes and sync them with the Reminders app, so you never miss a beet.
Meet the creator: Crouton founder Devin Davies, an indie developer from New Zealand, found time to build the app in the evenings once his three kids were asleep. The idea for Crouton came to him when he realized his system for organizing recipes (storing them all in one document) was getting out of hand. “The goal of Crouton is to make meal planning and cooking as simple as possible,” he says.
