StringSense
Track your racquet strings
Free · In-App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Spring season is here. Track your string health, log every session, and always know when it's time to restring. Play your best.
Dead strings cost you power, spin, and control — but most players have no idea when it's time to restring. StringSense tells you exactly when your strings are due, so you always play with confidence.
What Makes StringSense Different
Unlike simple timers or tone-based tools, StringSense uses a science-based string health model. It factors in your string type, playing time, court surface, temperature, intensity, and player level to calculate a real-time health score for every racquet you own.
Your strings don't just age — they wear differently depending on how and where you play. StringSense understands that.
True Hybrid Support
Play with a hybrid setup? StringSense tracks your mains and crosses string types separately. The algorithm calculates wear based on the actual materials — so a poly/gut hybrid gets a different health score than a poly/multi hybrid. No more averaged guesswork.
How It Works
1. Add your racquet and log your string job with string type and tension.
2. Record your play sessions — duration, surface, intensity, and conditions.
3. Watch your string health score update automatically after every session.
4. Get a clear signal when it's time for fresh strings.
Smart Check
After each session, StringSense asks how your strings felt: crisp, normal, or mushy. Over time, this teaches the app your personal preferences — so recommendations become even more accurate.
Your Dashboard at a Glance
See all your racquets in one place with live health indicators. Track your total play hours, average string health, and tension history with detailed graphs. Swipe through your racquets, tap for details, and stay on top of your equipment.
Works Offline
No Wi-Fi at the club? No problem. StringSense stores everything locally and syncs automatically when you're back online. Your data is always available, on or off the court.
StringSense Pro
The free version gives you full access for one racquet. When you're ready for more:
• Unlimited racquets
• Detailed tension graphs
• CSV data export
• Support ongoing development
Privacy First
Your data belongs to you. StringSense uses no tracking, no analytics, and no ads. Your racquet and session data is stored securely in your personal account and never shared.
Whether you're a club player who strings every few months, a tournament competitor who restrings weekly, or a weekend warrior who just wants to know when it's time — StringSense keeps your equipment in peak condition.
Download StringSense and never play on dead strings again.

StringSense 3.2.0 — "Racquet Profile"
Pros know their gear. The app does now too.
The headline this release: you can now assign three new properties to
your racquet — string pattern, head size, and weight. Pattern and head
size aren't cosmetic: they feed directly into the wear prediction.
How it plays out: a dense 18×20 pattern on a 95 sq in head keeps strings
fresh up to 15% longer. An open 16×18 pattern on 110 sq in wears up to
13% faster. Same string, same playing style — different hardware,
different life span. The app factors that in whenever you log a new
string job.
Everything is optional. Existing racquets keep working as before; if you
don't add anything, nothing changes. You can fill the properties in
later, at any time.
For European players: head size can be displayed in sq in or cm² — your
choice. The toggle sits in Workshop → Settings, right below the tension
unit. The racquet card and the detail header now show a compact line
like "16×19 · 100 sq in · 305 g" — just the fields you actually filled
in.
Also in 3.2.0:
Session capture, rebuilt. Logging a new session and editing an existing
one now feel identical: same full-screen layout, same stepper for
duration, same pill picker for intensity. Editing used to live in a
narrow bottom sheet — that's gone.
When you tap "Add session" from a racquet's detail page, that racquet is
already selected in the picker. For Pro accounts with multiple racquets,
it's one fewer tap per session.
Light Mode polish. The bottom nav bar used to read slightly green-tinted
in the light theme — it now sits in the same cream tone as the page
background, more in line with the rest of the brand.
Tighter save validation. Malformed or incomplete sessions are caught
early at save time with a clear error toast. The old path could
occasionally let broken entries slip through to local storage.
Accessibility. The option pills for intensity, surface, and conditions
now announce their selected state to screen readers (VoiceOver,
TalkBack) — selections are audibly traceable.
Pros know their gear. The app does now too.
