Native MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, ClickHouse & Redis client for Mac, iPad & iPhone. SQL editor, SSH tunnels, backups, MongoDB. 60-day free trial. Calíope — Database Client for Mac, iPad and iPhone Calíope is a powerful, native client for MySQL, MariaDB, Amazon Aurora, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, ClickHouse and Redis, built for Mac, iPad and iPhone. Whether you're a developer, DBA, or data analyst, Calíope gives you everything you need to connect, query, explore, and manage your databases — all in a clean, native interface designed for Apple platforms. WHAT'S INCLUDED WITH CALÍOPE PRO SQL Editor — Write and execute queries with syntax highlighting and an integrated execution history, side by side across independent tabs, each with its own live session. Reports — A saved query with its parameters declared and its output defined: which columns, in what order, with what titles and formats. Running it twice gives the same thing. Works against relational databases, SQLite files and MongoDB, exports to nine formats including a paginated PDF, and can run on a schedule. Database Explorer — Browse your full schema — tables, views, stored procedures, triggers, events and more — from an intuitive tree, with columns, indexes and foreign keys at a glance. ER Diagrams — Visualize your database structure with interactive entity-relationship diagrams. Understand table relationships and schema design without writing a single query. Secure Connections — Connect to remote servers safely with native SSH tunneling (ed25519 and ECDSA keys), SSL/TLS encryption, and per-profile credential storage in your system Keychain. Scheduled Backups — Automate backups with flexible scheduling and configurable retention, choosing exactly which databases and tables go into each job. Replication Topology — Declare the primary and its replicas, and see the whole group at once, with a diagram: each replica with its lag, its two threads and the transactions it actually owes. A replica can report 0 seconds while it runs hours behind. Multiple Sessions & Query Log — Open and switch between independent database sessions, each isolated. Every query is logged locally, so you can trace what was executed, when, and on which connection. Works without a server — A built-in SQLite editor for local .sqlite files: structure, data, SQL, pragmas, Save/Revert and CSV/JSON/SQL import and export. A DuckDB editor opens .duckdb files and queries Parquet, CSV or JSON where they already are. Plus a read-only previewer for .md, .sql, .json, .csv, .rtf and .log files. All work offline. Widgets — Server metrics without opening the app: Mac desktop, iPhone and iPad Home and Lock Screens. One server per widget; tap to open its dashboard. AI SQL Assistant — An optional assistant that helps you write queries, explain results and suggest optimizations. It works from the first launch with Apple Intelligence: no key, no cost, and nothing leaves your device. You can also bring your own key from a supported provider — usage is billed by that provider, and Calíope does not charge for or resell AI services — or point it at a local model. Keys stay in your Keychain. ONE-TIME PURCHASE • Calíope Pro — buy once, keep forever. Calíope 1.6 What's new: • Calíope speaks Oracle — Oracle Database joins as a native engine, with a driver written for Calíope and connections encrypted with TLS or through an SSH tunnel: the SQL Editor with its own keywords, snippets, function reference and PL/SQL, Catalogs with packages, sequences and the DDL the server itself writes, the table Builder, the visual EXPLAIN with its index advisor, the Process List, Backup, Users, the slow query log and fourteen Oracle chapters in the DBA Handbook. Oracle Database 26ai and newer. Data Guard replication and AWR stay out. Update Calíope on all your devices before creating Oracle connections: an earlier version would read them as MariaDB. • Environment tags — Every connection can carry an environment tag with the name and color you choose — local, staging, production — and a band in its color above every tool tells you which server you’re on before you run anything. The tag has a protection level: no protection; confirms writes, which asks once per run with the tag’s name in front; or read-only, which never sends what writes and hides the tools that only write. On MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL and ClickHouse, the server itself also goes read-only. It is a protection against accidents, not security: security is a read-only user on the server. • Calíope speaks ClickHouse — ClickHouse joins as a native engine, over its HTTP or HTTPS interface with a client written for Calíope: the SQL Editor with its own keywords, snippets and function reference, Catalogs with sorting and partition keys and materialized views, the table Builder, the visual EXPLAIN, the Process List with mutations in progress, Backup, Users, Maintenance, the slow query log and the replica monitor for each table. ClickHouse 25.3 and newer. Update Calíope on all your devices before creating ClickHouse connections: an earlier version would read them as MariaDB. • Calíope speaks Redis — Redis joins as a native engine, with a client written for Calíope: RESP2 and RESP3, TLS, an SSH tunnel for a standalone server, and cluster, following each key to the node that holds it. Seven tools of its own: Keys, which walks the keyspace with SCAN grouped by prefix, shows each value by its type and edits it with care; Server, with memory, hit rate, persistence and pub/sub; Memory, which measures what each prefix takes up; Slow Log; Clients; Console, which refuses or asks you to confirm dangerous commands; and Topology, with the replicas and the cluster's slots. Snippets, Reports and the AI Assistant work with Redis too. Update Calíope on all your devices before creating Redis connections: an earlier version would read them as MariaDB and, if it saved, would rewrite them that way; you get them back by choosing Redis again. • Calíope on Apple Vision Pro — A native visionOS app: the tool navigator and your open tabs live in ornaments outside the glass, and every tool works with gaze and pinch. Requirements: Calíope 1.6 needs macOS 26 Tahoe on the Mac, iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 on iPhone and iPad, visionOS 26 on Apple Vision Pro, tvOS 26 on Apple TV and watchOS 26 on Apple Watch. On an earlier Mac or iPad, version 1.2 stays available and keeps working.
