Perculith
Sample-Free Percussion Synth
USD 14.99 · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Launch offer: 40% off for a limited time. Make percussion no one else has. Skip the sample packs everyone uses and shape a sound that's unmistakably yours.
Perculith is a polyphonic percussion synthesizer built from tuned resonators that hand energy to one another, overload, break, and heal while the note is still ringing. Nothing is sampled. Every sound is synthesized live as you play.
WHAT IT SOUNDS LIKE
- Muted taps, felt grids, and quiet wooden knocks
- Bells, plates, glass octaves, and night carillons
- Steel mesh, bronze, tin, and machine halos
- Claps, closed and open hats, and brush clusters
- Fractures, fault lines, and slow demolitions
- Long fields that restructure themselves as they ring
- Glockenspiel, metallophone, xylophone, marimba, vibraphone, celesta, concert chimes, crotales
56 FACTORY SOUNDS
Eight in each of Evolving, Mallet, Low Impact, Clap/Hat, Metallic, Tonal, and Fracture. Searchable, filterable, and ready to play the moment you open the app.
BUILD THE INSTRUMENT
- Topology: ring, grid, small world, clustered, or sparse
- Spectrum: harmonic, stretched, clustered, or random, with stretch and spread
- Strike: energy, hardness, radius, variation
- Coupling field: coupling, disorder, phase lag
- Rupture: threshold, fatigue, burst, and heal from 1 ms to 5 s
- Tail: decay to 20 s, release, width, saturation, tuning
- Retune and rebalance individual cells and bonds by hand
PUT IT IN MOTION
Four LFOs from 0.01 to 40 Hz, with seven shapes, retrigger, and tempo sync. Thirty-two bipolar routes. Sources include velocity, aftertouch, pitch bend, mod wheel, and CC 74, plus three that come from the sounding note itself: voice energy, synchrony, and rupture. Route rupture back into coupling or the threshold and the instrument reshapes itself as it fails.
FINISH IT
Chorus, delay, and Reflection on the master bus, each bypassed independently and each holding its settings. Chorus rate and delay time lock to host tempo from 1/1 to 1/32, straight, dotted, or triplet.
PLAY IT
- 16 voices, always. Polyphony never depends on the preset
- Poly, mono, or legato with glide
- MIDI 1.0 and MIDI 2.0, pitch bend to 48 semitones, channel and polyphonic aftertouch
- 40 automatable parameters with sample-accurate events
WHEREVER YOU WORK
Standalone app and AUv3 Instrument for Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Vision Pro. The same interface in all of them, so a technique learned in one transfers to the rest. Stereo, at any host rate from 44.1 to 192 kHz.
REPRODUCIBLE EVERYWHERE
An eight-digit seed and a handful of settings describe an entire instrument, and they build the same instrument on every device, at every launch. New Seed keeps the family resemblance and changes the detail.
SAFE TO EXPERIMENT
Change the structure mid-phrase and the new instrument fades in while you play. If a change does not hold up, the sound you are playing keeps playing. A 29-step guided tutorial runs on first launch and replays whenever you want it, and a built-in technical reference documents every control, every range, and every routing rule.
Save your own sounds to the Library, and iCloud syncs them to all your devices when available.
