Ratings and Reviews
Highlighting
I’m really enjoying the app. Easy and user friendly. I just think that the highlighting of text should be a bit easier and quicker to use.
Works on almost no electronic devices whatsoever
This one finds out after paying the publisher for books that cannot be accessed. Let me anticipate the Bookshelf reply: “We are sorry to hear you are (once again) having trouble accessing your books after we updated the app and discontinued it on a further 55 platforms. May I ask what device you are using?” To which my reply is: “I am not using one of the PCs on the LAN at your head office, which are apparently the only devices that can access your books”. Why are publishers that use Bookshelf not required to put a warning on the shopping cart that the books cannot be accessed on normal commercially available devices? I find the whole scheme unethical.
Developer Response ,
Hello, this is Sean from VitalSource. I saw your review, and I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with Bookshelf. The latest version of Bookshelf for iOS, 4.5.1, will work on iOS devices running iOS 10 or later. Would you mind emailing me at sean@vitalbook.com so we can find out why you cannot view your eBooks on your iOS device? Thank you in advance.
Can no longer access my books, please help: IOs12.5.1 vs iOS 13
I’ve been enjoying Vitalsource for the past couple of years, however, since my older iPad device is only on update iOS 12.5.1, I now cannot access my academic books using my device as the message on the APP store indicates that Vitalsource only operates on iOS13. Please assist urgently. Many thanks.
