Classroom is a free service for schools, non-profits and anyone with a personal Google Account. Classroom makes it easy for learners and instructors to connect – inside and outside of schools. Classroom saves time and paper, and makes it easy to create classes, distribute assignments, communicate and stay organised.

Classroom is designed to help teachers create, collect and mark assignments paperlessly, including time-saving features like the ability to automatically make a copy of a Google document for each student. It also creates Drive folders for each assignment and for each student to help keep everyone organised.

Students can keep track of what’s due on the Assignments page and begin working with just a click. Teachers can quickly see who has or hasn't completed the work, and provide direct, real-time feedback and marks right in Classroom.

With the mobile app for iOS, students and teachers can view their classes and communicate with their classmates in real time. Students can open their assignments and work on them right from their iPhone or iPad. Teachers can keep track of who has handed in work and mark the assignment – at school or on the go. Students and teachers receive notifications when they have new content in Classroom, so they are always up to date.

There are many benefits of using Classroom:

Easy to set up
Teachers can add students directly or share a code with their class to join. It takes just minutes to set up.

Saves time
The simple, paperless assignment workflow allows teachers to create, review and mark assignments quickly, all in one place.

Improves organisation
Students can see all of their assignments on an assignments page, and all class materials (e.g. documents, photos and videos) are automatically filed into folders in Google Drive.

Enhances communication
Classroom allows teachers to send announcements and start class discussions instantly. Students can share resources with each other or provide answers to questions on the stream.

Like the rest of Google Workspace for Education services, Classroom contains no ads, never uses your content or student data for advertising purposes.

The app is glitch and causes confusion amongst my classmates

If I could I would rate this app zero stars whenever I try and open a pdf my phone glitches and suddenly loses 50% ( I have an IPhone 8 that is brand new) what’s more is that it has left my phone super slow but as soon as I deleted this app it was fine. Google should be extremely shameful of this app which has corrupted my phone. Also it glitches out whenever my teacher sends a notification and makes my phone open google classroom when I am spending time chatting to my friends who I can’t see this is ridiculous but I don’t have a choice as it is just about the only educational app. Please remove this from the App Store and google Playstore now. I also don’t get stream notifications which causes me to get into trouble with teachers and look like a child who doesn’t care about school work in a country like SA where the poor often don’t even go to school.

Excellent! But Some Needed Suggestions and Improvemtents

I really love your app, Google! Google Classroom is such an intuitive and easy learning environment that is easy to work with, hassle-free submission of work and so forth! The accessibility is extremely easy, however I have a few concerns:

1. Perhaps if you could allow students to make their own google classrooms again as this may be needed to make a hub for school internal organizations such as prefects and perhaps a recycling committee, that a student wants to set up, so that the inner-school organization members will stay informed and will do the various tasks needed to be done.

2. You could also make the Classroom environment more inclusive and more user-friendly for younger kids such as toddlers to use, as during these pandemic times, little students such as grade one and grade two struggle to submit their work, use google classroom effectively and so forth.

This app is completely horrible

I had downloaded Google classroom onto my iPad mini (not the new one an old one) at the beginning of lockdown and all my educators were send work on the app. The app was working completely fine until this week. Now when I open the app it tells me to update the app but the problem is that my iPad mini is an old version so when I downloaded Google classroom I had to download the old version.
Now it will not let me into my school work unless I update it but if I update it then the version of the app will not be compatible with my iPad version.
I do not recommend this app and the only reason I have the app is because my educators are still sending work.
If no one can help me I will be extremely disappointed with this.
