It’s a lot of fun. However it feels that if you go first it’s a major disadvantage. Your opponent can see how you took your shot and use that information to their advantage. Tweak it to make their shot better than yours. I’ve lost and won too many games due to this error. And with their being no skill needed when putting, all games end up in a draw. And the guy who plays first in the shoot out tends to lose most of the time. My suggestion; hide all the ball guides and so on from your opponent. If they don’t know that I should have used greater spin on my shot because the ball was slightly short, the chances are they will miss their shot too.

I have been playing this game since it came out on and off. It’s never been as bad as it is since EA took over Playdemic. It’s more about micro transactions than anything else and if you log a ticket based on an in game issue they just blame your Internet, yet today after a game update, I tried playing the first hole of the 9 hole cup. A message appeared to inform me my connection is unstable, which does happen now and then. Under normal circumstances it would take you back to the lobby and you can try again. Not today though, hole 1 was ‘concluding’ which means I now have a bogey without even being able to play the first hole. A while back I had an issue where mid match the game just stopped responding, tried to go back into the game after closing it and it would normally take you back to the match you are busy with, but again hole was concluding and where I was a short putt away from an eagle, I ended up with a bogey due to a game crash. After logging a ticket the response was again, check your Internet. Rather start fixing your game instead of blame shifting to a client.

Game crashes often, other games on the same device, don’t do this, so it must be a program problem. It’s frustrating as you lose your payment, forfeit your ball, you lose the game & you lose points for no fault of your own. On reconnecting, the time limit for playing your shot is not reset to 30 seconds, so you have 4 or so seconds to aim, allow for wind resistance & shoot! This is not fair gameplay at all as it is not possible to do all the setup requirements in just 4 or so seconds! Second problem is they have in game advertising boards, in normal golf these are treated as natural hazards & you are permitted a free drop. In Golf Clash, if you land behind these boards, your game is over as you have no clear shot no matter how good your previous shot was. Again you are penalized for no good reason & your chances of winning is compromised. The game would be enjoyable if these issues were properly dealt with.

I think wind direction and possibly speed, should be at least reasonably consistent per hole, and not per shot as it is now. This adds another dimension in planning your next shot, and allows you to take the wind into account when positioning your shot. At the moment, especially at high wind speeds, you have no idea where the wind will be blowing for your next shot. That said, I also believe approach shots and putting should be more difficult in order to minimise chip-ins and one-putts. Achieving 20 under par and not getting into the top 50 is not cool.
