GrandPerspective is a small utility application that graphically shows the disk usage within a file system. It can help you to manage your disk, as you can easily spot which files and folders take up the most space.
Disk usage is visualised using tree maps. Each file is shown as a rectangle with an area proportional to the file's size. Files in the same folder appear together.
Configurable display of views:

I’ve had a rough time of it for a few years now stuggling to find what has been taking up all my space on my Mac. I’ve gone through dozens the websites trying to find help - but always nothing. So eventually I decided to cave and spend a little money. Being near broke, I could only spend a few dollars. But it worked. The app downloaded quickly - scanned my whole harddrive in one go - and voila! found the 36000 files taking up 50% of my harddrive. (They were whole bunch of stuff from a failed backup of my mobile phone.Because it failed, the normal backup delete tutorials didnt work as they were not found in iTunes preferences. And nether did it help clearing my Library. But with Grand Perspective, it found all these files, and then grouped them together so that I was able to quite easily able to identify a visual “block” of these 36000 files. Then it was as simple as right clicking on the block, and it took me to the folder in Finder, and boom! TRASHED!THANK YOU GRAND PERSPECTIVE!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
