Update don’t support older devices

I’ve logged a call with the support team as the updated version of the app, does not support playback of older models of Dahua devices. I can stream perfectly however it continues giving me “failed to playback” notices. The support team advised that it could be due to the latest software version in the app, might no longer support older models. At no point with recent updates, did the description state that. It only indicates, “Bug fixes”. The device itself can playback but the app cannot, so it doesn’t justify having to replace a unit that works totally fine, but the app not fully supporting it anymore. Please advise
