I’ve tried a lot of dating apps over the years, but BOO honestly surprised me in the best way possible. It’s the first app where I didn’t feel like I needed to “perform” or pretend to be someone I’m not. From the moment you sign up, BOO treats you like a real human being with depth, personality, flaws, and layers — not just another profile picture in a catalog.What makes BOO stand out to me is how much effort it puts into understanding your actual personality. The personality insights are freakishly accurate. I didn’t just get matched with people — I got matched with people I could have real conversations with.The profiles on BOO also feel much more authentic than on other apps. I’ve been using the Boo app for a few weeks now, and I think it’s a great idea with a lot of potential. What makes Boo different from most dating or friendship apps is that it focuses on your personality, not just your looks. It uses personality types (like MBTI) to match people, which makes it feel more meaningful. I liked that I could learn more about myself and others through the personality breakdowns.I’ve had some really deep and interesting conversations with people here, and the matches actually made sense. Boo also offers suggestions on how you and your match can get along based on your personality types, which is helpful.However, there are a few things that I didn’t like. One of the biggest issues is that when you reject a profile, it still counts as a “like” and takes up one of your limited daily likes. This can be very frustrating, especially if you accidentally tap on a profile or just want to skip it. It feels unfair and makes the free version harder to enjoy.Also, sometimes it takes a while to get matches, especially if you live in a smaller area. The app is still growing, so the user base isn’t very large in some places.Overall, Boo is a thoughtful and unique app that helps you connect on a deeper level. It just needs a few fixes to make it even better.
