I have investigated and used all sorts of note taking applications on multiple platforms. One Note has the potential to be the best beating all other rs hands down.2 features are missing 1. The ability to record while taking notes. This is a vital feature especially in any profession where you consult with clients or for example students in a class. The best in class application is Notability for this feature. Notability however is not cross platform, severely limiting the usability of the application.2. This is a basic feature that has become such an irritation because it is so simple to add, yet this feature has been ignored. The ability to select a default template. Common guys, these are the basics. You have a great app. Your users truly love the cross platform application. The ability to set a default template in the IOS app seems too much of a basic application application feature to ignore. Please don't tell me there is some silly reason for ignoring it.Love one note, and would love to leave the other not taking applications behind me. Kobus Barnard

I use this app primarily on my iPad and occasionally cross over onto PC to go over my notes and it’s plain insulting to see how features have been kept away from the app even though users would more likely use them on the app, such as a ruler, ink to text, more insert options and being able to recover deleted notes(especially painful considering I’m a 365 subscriber). It makes what would be a solid notes app for students and people wanting to go digital alike, while still making use of the integration they have from their 365 memberships a solidly mundane and frustrating experience. And that’s not including how the app will just and intermittently(but frequently enough to be noticed) just hang up and stutter, make notes made disappear after altering zoom and decide to completely lose track of your progress meaning your undo/redo buttons grey out as if you’re starting afresh. If you are looking to fully make electronic noting your main method of creating notes and work, rather go to a different app. If willing paying for apps well covered and reviewed like notability will serve you better and with less stress.

I love this app. It’s incredibly useful and works across different devices which makes it an amazing tool for my business. One request/suggestion would be where you import a PDF into a page as an attachment/printout, it would be basically the perfect app if we were then able to highlight the PDF or make some notes on it. Even just a pen and highlighter function in there would be hugely helpful. Also the option to close the PDF and make notes and then reopen in the same place where you were. Definitely not complaining though because this app is a huge help in my life so thank you!
Great note taking app but could use a few improvements

I use this app on my iPad and so far I love it! I love how you can easily put text anywhere and how the pages run infinitely to the left and down, this is very helpful when making mind maps and such. I also love how organised everything is with all the journals, sections and pages. I never lose a note. One thing that is really annoying though is the fact that I need to go to the shapes tab to draw neat shapes and even straight lines. There should be an option to press and hold the pencil and your straight lines, or other shapes, will be autocorrected. If this feature gets added, I would rate this app 5 stars.
This month’s update is bug fixes only.
Thanks for using OneNote! We listened to your feedback and updated the application with optimizations to help improve your note taking experience.
