Functional, stable and still the numer 1 word processor

First of all, the elephant in the room… Yes, you need an Office 365 subscription. R900 isn’t that bad since you can use up to 5 devices, which is R180 per device, which is pretty reasonable especially for a family.The software itself is actually pretty decent, I am no Microsoft fan, but I have to hand it to them their Microsoft Office suite is hard to beat. I have tried switching to some of the alternatives, but I find myself back at MS Office every time.It isn’t fair to give this product 1 star because of the subscription, many software companies have adopted this model and it isn’t going anywhere any time soon. This is a 5 star product as it serves its intended purpose extremely well.

As a long-time user, I would like to give this 5 stars, but I can't. While I find MS365 Family to be a well-priced subscription service that suits my family's needs, my biggest complaint is the subpar performance/optimisation of the apps on Mac.Microsoft Word for Mac struggles significantly with large documents, specifically those exceeding 50 pages. It becomes incredibly slow and unresponsive, often freezing for several seconds after every few changes. This significantly impacts my workflow, as I regularly work on reports that can be as long as 250 pages.Initially, I suspected my 2019 MacBook Pro was the issue, despite it having an 8-Core i9 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB hard drive. However, even after upgrading to a 16-inch MacBook Pro with the M3 Max chip and 32GB of RAM, the problem persists. On occasion I have had to resort to using Microsoft Word for Windows through Parallels Desktop, as it handles large documents much better. It's ironic that I have to virtualize Windows on my Mac to get acceptable performance, even with OneDrive Auto Save turned off in the Mac version.This suggests the issue is not related to the hardware or processing power.Further evidence of an optimization issue is that saving the same 250-page document as a PDF from Word on Mac results in a significantly larger file size compared to Windows - almost three times bigger (30MB vs 10MB).When possible, I prefer using Pages to MS Word due to its better performance.MS365 team, please address this performance issue in Word for Mac. Please! 🙁

I have used the word document for the better part of my life and every now and then I am learning something different. This is the best document every one of us needs. Try it and if you are already using it, Never stop. I wish if the Harvard Reference list is included in the in-built bibliography of the MacBook, although I try to use my critical thinking skills to circumvent this issue but I still believe that it will be convenient to include it. Thank you.
