I’ve been using the 5x5 program for the last 6 years or so after being introduced to it by a friend. The program is amazing and especially when getting back into working out, so after a long lay off, after injury etc. It’s also great for when you hit a plateau a d want to increase strength and take your gym life to the next level. I recommend it for everyone. The app is phenomenal to keep track of your progress and to monitor yourself. It also helps with accountability and motivates you bit to cheat when the urge creeps in. By far the best tracking app.
Intro Video is Offputting

I initially downloaded this app about 6 months ago, but watching that intro video where the guys knees are wobbling like CRAZY had me question whether the developers of the app knew what they were doing. I deleted the app immediately. Luckily I was re-recommended this app and thought to try it again. But maybe consider what content you put in your intro video??
Developer Response
The form is correct. It's a proper Squat passed in powerlifting competitions several times in front of judges. The slight knee valgus is acceptable on heavy attempts. It doesn't cause pain, it's how I squat when I go heavy. Different people will Squat differently because they have different bodies. There's not one way to Squat. Your way can be wrong for me. The video is speed up to save time on the app startup. If you have questions about Squats, email me at support@stronglifts.com
Fantastic program, app often flaky
Pavel P. T.
I’m sorry to say this but I’m often contemplating switching to spreadsheets or just building my own. A primary reason why I like this app is the Apple Watch integration and it’s been super flaky the last few months. Often times it’s out of sync with the iPhone app, or starts out and then disconnects, leading to duplicate workouts or missing entries. Recently the iPhone app completely froze on me and lost the workout data. Which would be somewhat acceptable if it was free or cheap, but not at the current subscription price.
Deload Feature is problematic
S_Orege
Been using it for a long time . It’s still the best program there is.However the deload feature does not work any more. It only deloads the squat, the other exercise weights go down to default. When you deload, the weights are not synced between workout a and workout b … I am running on iPhone
