This app is excellent for definition and pronunciation. As a native British English speaker I still find a need to check words on a daily basis. Indispensable for EFL teachers and students. Since my GCE education I have always viewed the Concise Oxford dictionary as the gold standard reference to the English language. The app makes that large book portable.

The is is such a great well organized online version of a dictionary and this also symbolises the ever growing amount of technological advances in our world this also helps me with my homework and it’s strange that many people would doubt my age whilst I write this idk what do you think

Ads and Americanisation

Firstly, it would be nice if this dictionary made a stronger case for British English. I am constantly being confronted by the American spellings of words and when I want to check the British spelling your app provides the American spelling. Make a divide or something. Second, the ads are now overwhelming, prompting me to delete your app. You do realise that I can just use google to search for definitions and etymology, right? Sorry guys, but you’ve dropped the ball on this one.

We just did a check, for example, on the word "colour" and it does appear to have both British and American spelling. Please excuse the ads, but as they allow us to provide the genuine Oxford content, they need to be included in the Free version.
