Editors’ Notes

There’s only one thing easier than visiting the library: bringing it to you. Meet Libby, an app that lets you log in to your local library to access ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines, all for the reasonable price of free. Sign in, link your library card, and go—it’s that simple.

I love it!

I love this app! It works really well and my local library collection is small but growing :) I only wish I could read books from my Kindle as the backlit screen is much easier on your eyes.

What I wish Libby could do: Allow me to send borrowed books to my Kindle to read (I really don’t understand why only US can do this), come out with a dark mode, make the sleep timer customizable (e.g 15 min or 45 min), add a feature where you can add friends and see what they’re reading, keep track of how many books you’ve read or listened to for the year and the genres to see which genres you tend to like. :)

What a win!

Found out quite by chance that with an ordinary library membership you get access to the Libby app, and with it audio and ebooks as well. Instead of constantly complaining about how I can’t afford to read all of the books that I want, Libby provides a way to still get the brain food in. The only restrictions are on what your local public library has available, but you can join more than one library to get a wider selection too.
Note, you need your library card before you can borrow any of the books.
