Tarlen - Car-share, Car rental 4+

Overall:
You ask an astounding amount from your users before they see a cent and the amount of random people I’ve had to deal with in the past few days has made me very uncomfortable.

Policy issues:
Banks will not allow this kind of use without written permission and insurance companies will raise our premiums. On top of this you’re expecting users to pay monthly for a Tracker as well.

User experience:
The onboarding was tedious and wanted a lot of information before I could even use the app. There is not way to gauge how much I should or could charge for my car.

Overall, I’d love to say this app was ready to use but it is miles away from being ready.

Low hanging fruit:
- offer approved users with high end cars free installation and 2 months of tracker
- facilitate and build relationships with banks and insurers so the onus doesn’t fall on car owners/users
- make the onboarding easier; I shouldn’t have to populate loads of private information before I have a chance to get into and explored the app

We're glad you followed our directive and reached out to your car finance provider and insurance provider to get their approval to share your car. Unfortunately, we’re not a tracking company and this is not a part of our service offering. To share your car, you must have a tracker installed as per our insurance policy mandates. But this tracker is yours to keep whether you're sharing your vehicle through Tarlen or not.

Submitting information about yourself and your vehicle are a crucial parts of car-sharing. For the security of our members and the platform, we vet every information on the backend before it's shown to our users. This is important to keep you and everyone on the platform safe.

This app does not work
Every time I try to book a vehicle the app freezes and then I can’t proceed to booking, then it crashes and does want to reopen and then I have to delete the app and re-download it.

Thanks for bringing this to our notice. We apologise that you had this experience while trying to book a vehicle on Tarlen.

Our booking system was down at that time and we sent out a notice to all users that we were undergoing maintenance.
