Description
Introducing Mobile Web Services (MWS), a new suite of Personal Identity tokens and services, developed, administered and managed by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).
This MobileID Application is issued by the NIMC on behalf of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and serves as a valid means of Identification anywhere a Nigerian (or legal resident) is required to present an ID Token.
It MUST however, always be verified for the transaction to be complete.
The NIMC is also improving the design of the National Identification Number (NIN) Slip, which may also be verified using this App.
The NIMC will collaborate with sister agencies such as the FIRS, FRSC, JAMB, NAFDAC, NHIS and any other Federal or State Government that wishes to provide eServices to citizens via a secure platform.
Using this platform, the MWS Mobile Ecosystem means that the Government can instantly reach out to tens of millions of citizens anywhere in the world.
If you have been issued a National Identification Number (NIN) by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), you are welcome to download this application to use as a complement to, or in place of the physical National Identity Card.
This app may serve as a replacement for a physical Polycarbonate Card, since it also a State-of-the-Art General-Multipurpose resource.
We are here to serve you and welcome your feedback.
Please DO NOT attempt to use a fake Mobile Number or Bank Verification Number (BVN) to register. A NIN is issued by the Federal Government, BVN is not!

Have you had trouble getting your OTP on your phone? We now offer the option to receive your OTP on your registered WhatsApp number.
With the Selective ID feature, your identity is now even more secure. You can choose which information to share when someone verifies your identity in the app.

Today I can boldly say I am indeed proud to be a Nigerian and to associate with the developers of this great app.
The endless possibilities that a digital ID opens to myself and all other green passport carriers is simply amazing. It’s wonderful to note that it’s the first digital ID app of its kind in Africa. Congratulations to the great minds that put all these together and hope the leadership will embrace and encourage them to explore all the benefits of a digital ID in this new world of artificial intelligence.
Has this app actually worked for anyone?
Crossing out the reviews that were OBVIOUSLY written by people who just wanted to hype it up and not actual users, I’m sure there’s probably only 0.1% of those who have tried the app which have actually gained something from it.
I saw that thy upgraded it and thought they had fixed it. It’s so painful that for a second I was excited that something was actually functioning right in this country but it’s nothing but a façade.
Y’all should pay proper developers to fix this bug that’s been on it since it’s inception and let Nigerians at least have a taste of what a functional country feels like.
Change of phone number
I lost my registered phone number to my NIN alongside my phone. I have updated my new line to the NIN but they still send OTP to the lost SIM card. I chose the necessary options available that I have updated my phone number but the response was internal error. It has been like this for almost a month now.
Please, help me review this. Thanks.
