I love this game, as a long time Nintendo enjoyer I knew of Pikmin but didn’t really know them. I saw this game promoted on social media and as a Pokemon go lover I decided to give it a go, while Pokemon go is more active and catch as you go and online while you are walking, this is a game that you can just check up on 3 times a day and have a hell of a lot of fun, it’s free just give it a download!

I’ve been a fan of Pikmin for a long time. I loved Pokémon Go. Coming to this game I expected an elegant and easy to use pedometer with an injection of wacky Pikmin silliness. What I got was a bland and confusing time sink. The UX is awful - it is difficult to work out where to go in the UI to achieve things, and there are so many wordy popups to explain the unintuitive nature of the game that I just tune out. And I wanted to love the game. And I wanted a reason to march around my neighbourhood with pikmin in tow. The current game is severely lacking in flavour/character, and has terrible usability. I don’t know how it can recover from this poor launch, I might wait a year or so and check it out again. But knowing Niantic and their glacial improvements to Pokémon Go, I don’t expect improvements any time soon. Sorry developers, if you read this review, but this feels like a corporate exercise and not a satisfying experience

Super fun game, gets me moving. The art is cute and I love the music. There are a few issues however-1. When clicking on Mushroom Expeditions, the app sometimes freezes and I have to restart the app. Sometimes I may have to restart a few times in a row due to it continuously freezing at that point.2. There are way too many roadside pikmin, it is hard to come across special decor pikmin. And even when getting special decor, it is constantly giving me the same ones and it makes the game much less fun as finding new pikmin is not easy.

Great music and design. The gameplay has room for improvement. Dislike that the decor might not be accessible to everyone based on where they live and that arguably dictates where the game should be played. That inability to complete decor made me quit for a couple years. I’m giving it another go now and I don’t care about what I can’t collect. I really like the life-log and simple tracking of steps. It’s a really nice complimentary app for walking and I regret that I uninstalled it for so long.
