• Rigorous encryption — Your entire inbox is secured, on all your devices. No one can read your emails but you. Proton is privacy, guaranteed by end-to-end and zero-access encryption.
• Unmatched protection — We offer strong phishing, spam, and spying/tracking protection for all your communications.
Industry Leading Security Features
Messages are stored on Proton Mail servers using end-to-end encryption at all times and are transmitted securely between Proton servers and user devices. This largely eliminates the risk of message interception.
Zero Access to Your Email Content
Proton Mail's zero access architecture means that your data is encrypted in a way that makes it inaccessible to us. Data is encrypted on the client side using an encryption key that Proton does not have access to. This means we don't have the technical ability to decrypt your messages.
Open-Source Cryptography
Proton Mail's open-source software has been thoroughly vetted by security experts from around the world to ensure the highest levels of protection. Proton Mail only uses secure implementations of AES, RSA, along with OpenPGP, while all of the cryptographic libraries used are open source. By using open-source libraries, Proton Mail can guarantee that the encryption algorithms used do not have clandestinely built-in back doors.
Proton Mail in the press:
“Proton Mail is a Gmail-like email system which uses end-to-end encryption, making it impossible for outside parties to monitor.” Forbes
“A new email service being developed by a group who met at MIT and CERN promises to bring secure, encrypted email to the masses and keep sensitive information away from prying eyes.” Huffington Post

I love proton mail but I hope you can incorporate features similar to those offered by other email platforms. A simple yet impactful addition would be allowing users to create more folders and labels for better organization. It’s a small request but would make a significant difference. Hoping you’ll implement it soon!
Developer Response
Hi! Thanks for the review and feedback - we'll share it with the team. We can only sustain our business through our community's choice to support us by subscribing to a paid plan, so with that in mind, some features are necessarily available only on our premium plans. This ensures that we are able to keep providing free privacy-first services to those who can't afford a subscription.
Secure and sleek

I love this secure email service. It brings back what I call sense of trust — i.e. it would not read your emails for data points like what gmail and others do.Im in the initial stage of transferring all my stuff on this new platform.
Basic App with a Premium Price Tag
Kei0828
I use this app for work and it performs okay, but the interface is very basic. To get the best features, you have to subscribe—and it's way more expensive than Gmail. You shouldn't have to pay a premium for features that Gmail gives you for free. The only upside is that it's simple and has very few ads.Major con: It keeps crashing constantly. Is this happening just because I'm on the free version?
Developer Response
Unlike some other services, we do not profit off your data, and the only way we maintain our services, as well as make Free accounts possible, is through the support of our paying users. This is why we offer paying users access to additional perks and features. Please report the crashing through the in-app 'Report a problem' option, so our team can look into it.
Latest version very slow
BadHomie
It takes minutes (not seconds) for the mobile app to load the interface and to fetch mails. More delays in opening, attaching and sending emails. I doubt that my fiber connection and unlimited 5G mobile data on IPhone 12 is the problem. It’s this latest version of t he mobile app that is too heavy for mobile emails.
Developer Response
We are sorry to hear about this. Please note that we are aware of this issue and our team is working on improving this behavior. In the meantime, could you please try clearing the app cache, log out then log back in and reboot your device to see if that helps? If the issue persists, please report it to us so we can investigate further.
