Makes drug calculations so much easier; this is way faster than looking everything up in a formulary. There are also many other features such as toxic dose calculators for chocolate and rodenticides, glucose monitoring features, fluid rate calculators, and a feature to help grade kidney disease amongst other things. The only downside is that it’s geared towards cats and dogs and no other species. For other species you can still use the app but you have to enter drugs and recommended dosages manually.

Very helpful app with much potential

I use this app on a daily basis to calculate dosages of various medications, particularly when writing anesthetic protocols. The overall design of the app is quite good, proving that the designers are quite skillful and knowledgeable. The app is not completely flawless yet, and a new drugs/changes in drug concentrations are not always saved as they should. When the order of drugs is changed the app doesn’t seem to always save it either. One suggestion I would make would be to add the ability to highlight a drug (line item) by clicking on it. This would make it a lot easier to pick dosages out of a large list and avoid making mistakes due to the proximity between numbers. Overall a great app though, well worth the cost. My compliments to the makers!

Recently I had 2 issues which affected my ability to use this app-both issues were resolved ASAP. I discovered the customer support email for the 2nd issue, and within the hour I had already received a reply back! A temporary fix was discovered to get the app working again within another hour. And they fixed the main error by the next day. Overall, very pleased!!! Well worth the $$

There was a bug in the last version that has been fixed in version 2.9.98. Unfortunately, all updates have to be approved by Apple before they are available to users and it took 24 hours. Hope you can update the App and reconsider your review at some point.

[Edit to Dev response: Nope, happens both on my home wifi and hospital wifi with this phone (and iPad and MacBook) successfully using wifi data. Also, as an ER/ICU vet, this is a game-breaking feature in a resource I'm going to choose when I need information fast. Don't get me wrong, I loved this app and I look forward to it working correctly again.] Drugs won’t load at all since last update, have reinstalled, am always on Wi-Fi. Didn’t fix issue. Used to love using this app, now utility is greatly reduced. Hope it’s fixed soon, especially since a lot of folks have bought it on my recommendation

Most likely you are connecting to a WiFi that is not actually connecting thru to the internet. The app knows if it is not connecting to WiFi or Cellular but if the Wifi connection is not actually connecting to the internet it will fail. You can test this by turning off wifi and using a cellular connection or make sure your WiFi has an actual internet connection. Working on technology to detect this WiFI-internet issue in the next version. BTW, you can always email for tech support thru the App. I respond ASAP.ADDENDUM: You can always contact me directly to help work out your issue. (email info@vetcalculators.com).I'm surprised that it hasn't worked since the last update. Vetcalculators v2.9.4 was uploaded 6 months ago and that is the most recent update. Unless you have had issues that long, it has to be something more recent interfering with the data in the App. Being a Veterinarian and the sole developer of Vetcalculators, I want all my users to have as good experience as possible. Sorry it is not working for you! Happy to help if you email at some point. I can let you try the beta of the next version to see if it helps.
