A seriously fun and addicting baseball game!

I rarely write reviews, and I am typically not a big fan of mobile games, but this game surprised me. Despite being a PvP game designed around quick, 1 inning matches, it has a surprising amount of depth. Each player on your team has a special skill. Some players have an offensive skill, like a power boost when batting and a fastball is pitched; other players have a defensive skill, like the ability to throw the ball insanely fast to a base after fielding it; and pitchers have a pitching skill, such as a boost to their control as long as they have no balls in the count. Mixing and matching different players allows you to build a team with a skill set that fits your play style and has a major effect on each game. I must mention that most players in the game have to be unlocked, but so far I haven’t spent any money and I have unlocked most of them simply by playing the game. The pitching and hitting system works very well and is actually better than many console baseball games I have played over the years. If you are reading this devs, I think you have the basis for a solid console baseball game. Take what you have already done and just expand on it. Create more players, expand the customization of teams/logos/etc and allow people to play longer games (6- 9 innings) and you could have a seriously awesome console baseball game here. As is, you already have an excellent mobile baseball game… I just want more!

SUPER ADDICTING GAME

Love this game! Super addicting! A few things will drive you crazy about the gameplay though. Turning a double play can be difficult at times because when defenders are closer together they take FOREVER to make the throw the ball to each other AND they take a long time before they throw it to first. The game can be really glitchy at times which hurts you when base running. Sometimes my guys have been thrown out without the defender tagging them out when necessary and Vice versa on defense I’ve tagged players out and they’ve been called safe. When you get in the higher levels it would be nice to be able to earn more gold because the cost of upgrading players is so much higher. For people who don’t buy packs in later levels it can take forever to upgrade players because of cost. All in all it’s a fun and addicting game to play though 3/5*That was my first review I sent back in June I believe. And with the first update they fixed the in field mechanics on defense to make turning 2/3 much more realistic! I haven’t had any glitches base running for about a month even if I have bad connection sometimes. But with that first update mentioned above the hitting took a major downturn! I barely hit any homeruns the entire month. Even with using manual and having great timing and placing the cursor on the ball it was difficult to hit many extra base hits. This latest update has taken care of that issue and added some extra animations in the field and in the batters box. It’s much appreciated when developers actually fix the things going wrong in the game 5/5 for that reason right there!

1 BIG Problem

First of all, my favorite game! Check that, my favorite app! My favorite ______ on any of my devices! When I decided a year ago I was no longer going to play games on any device because of the amount of time I felt I had wasted I erased every last one. Well….. Everyone except this one. It’s as easy for me to clear my mind by only playing a single game in a couple of minutes or get lost in it for an hour. That said, the only reason I gave it four stars instead of 12 like I wanted to was because of something I can only characterize as a glitch. And it seems to be happening more and more often rather than less and less. I can be playing on my phone or my iPad and have the same issue. I watch a play unfold with joy as I either take the lead or stretch the one I already had. Then suddenly the screen seems to jump, the other teams players are just magically in a new spot, the ball has switched hands, a run comes off the board and I go from zero outs to 2. Now that was just an example but like I said it’s happening more and more often and ruining the joy I used to get from this game and frustrating me over something that I know really shouldn’t matter. But as I said it’s the last game allow myself to play because I found it fun enough that I didn’t feel like I was just wasting my time. Recently I find myself turning off the game filling frustrated as often as I am happy that I got to play for a few minutes. Maybe this has always been the case but I don’t remember it occurring as often the first several months I began playing.Sincerely,One of your biggest fans!

A word about the people who rate the game low…

Game isn’t perfect, but I want to clear up a few “complaints” that I’ve read in these reviews. First, the player base is huge. You may occasionally get a game against AI, but 95 times out of 100 you’re playing a person. Most of the “glitch complaints” have been fixed, and the devs are constantly patching. The game gives NO IN-GAME ADVANTAGE to people who spend money, nor does the game “decide” who will win before the game starts. People who complain about this are simply not good at this skill based game and don’t want to admit it. Now, it’s BASEBALL, so of course luck is gonna play into it sometimes. You can crush a ball right to an outfielder, or dribble a weak grounder through the infield. Just like real baseball. And of course there is some lag sometimes (less often with every patch), but it only rarely affects game play. Now, it’s not perfect. When you tag a runner out, the defender holds the ball forever before he will execute a throw to another base. That must be changed. There are also too many errors at times. But again, the devs do updates a LOT and this stuff will get fixed, just like the glitches have, especially playing over WiFi. Another thing is that you can’t see all of your hitter’s stats (HR, RBI and steals) unless you’re playing the game and they come to the plate. I’d like to see that changed. I know I might sound like a shill for the creators, but it frustrates me when people blame the game for their own shortcomings as a player. I’m “Pat” in the club “Metropolitans” (a top 50 club in the world), if you want to check that I’m real.
