Great place for true hobbyists!

I’ve been on this app for about a year now and it has a great vibe. It really helps that the idea for this came from a father and son duo and I also started in this hobby with my own father (like many have). The sellers on here are all courteous (so far) and it’s been a nice break from the hustle and bustle of auctions and breakers. I REALLY like that you get $10 credit per month with your PRO subscription (which i promptly spend right away because I always have my eye on something.) I’ve made great deals and have gotten great deals on here. The one bit of criticism I would say is that there are is an abundance of dead accounts (meaning people have signed up but they haven’t been active in a year). Those accounts are sketchy and I always stay away from them. I think COLLX should freeze user accounts that have turned into zombies. Often times when I find a card that has a price which is too good to be true it is associated with one of these accounts (not always, but mostly) “Use it or lose it” is what I say. Otherwise I am a COLLX fan.

Promising but lots of bugs

I don’t do any buying or selling, just use the app to catalog my player and vintage collections so when I go to card shows I know what I already own. It works great for that but I have a few issues. One is that the app constantly incorrectly identifies cards. I get that modern cards have a crazy amount of variations, but I can scan a base card and it thinks it’s a rare variant, which then makes cataloging take much longer when I have to manually change almost every card I scan. I especially find it frustrating when scanning vintage baseball cards. For example I scanned a 1959 Topps Willie Mays, front and back of card, and the app thought it was a reprint from 1994. This happens very regularly and I’m not sure why. The next issue I came across was that I wanted to retake some of my photos with better lighting. I hit edit on a card and chose retake photos and updated them. Did this on a bunch of cards and then came to find all the old photos were back. Kept trying to replace again and taking yet again new photos, and same thing happened. Only thing to solve the issue was to delete the card from my collection and add it fresh again, but because of the above issue with the app not choosing the right card, I have to manually correct it. This becomes extremely frustrating cause the app is great in concept but several issues keep it from being a go to and I will need to rethink subscribing to the pro tier until these issues can be ironed out.

Bugs and bugs and lack of service

***update 6 months later. I’ve sold a significant amount of cards after they fixed some of the bugs. I’ve been trying to withdraw my money to pay some bills. I was informed my tax info was missing since it’s an amount that puts me above taxable income (which is fine). I already updated my info and still unable to withdraw the money. Support won’t say how long until a fix and refuses to refund me for fees pertaining to the sales of the withdrawal amount or past/future CollX credits. Unfortunately support has caused me to drop my previous rating down to 1 star. They’re keeping my money and have no way to manually complete the transaction. Horrible service! **Update weeks later. Still multiple bugs and even worse service. Won’t refund portions of my subscription even though the app isn’t working as advertised. I’ll be escalating with Apple.**I’ve had this app for about 3 months now and use it daily to organize and sell my collection. This app has so many bugs and there is no urgency to fix them. Entire parts of my collection were missing for a week. It’s only been partially fixed. Checklists won’t populate. When I ask for a credit for my monthly fee they completely ignore it and just talk about the wonderful features of their app. Pro support doesn’t do anything but tell you to contact an email address that you’ll need to wait a couple days to hear back from. Don’t think I’ll be renewing my subscription next year.

I recently submitted a review about how bad the newest update is. I love the IDEA of the app, and when it works right, it’s spectacular. The issue is, it almost never works right. It never recognizes newer inserts, which would be fine if the “search for card” function worked but it doesn’t. When searching, you either get infinite loading, or if you happen to find your card, when you select it, it sends you back to the card screen and still says that the card couldn’t be found. Also, I get that there’s tons of card variations, but there are some variations in which, every other card from the set seems to be in the database aside from the one you are searching. For example, 2021 Panini Playbook Zoning Commission. I have the Aaron Jones card, when searching for it, no matter what key words I use or even the ZC-AJO card “#” it shows every card in the set aside from this one. How can you have a full checklist but then just not have some in the system?! This has happened on multiple occasions, this is just the most recent example. Like I said, I LOVE the Idea of the app. The execution on it has just been mediocre. Prices are also all over the place. It should really pull from eBay recent sell or something so we can get accurate pricing.

New Features: • Product Quantity: You can now specify quantity for products in your collection. When adding an item, you can increment quantity on the scan results screen, or modify quantity for existing items on the product detail screen. If you want to reserve items for your personal collection, you can set the number of items For Sale separately from the number you have On Hand (your total quantity). Improvements • Tracking Number Updates: Sellers can now update tracking numbers on orders that are already in transit. When a tracking number is changed, it's recorded in the order timeline for full transparency. • Collection Sort by Price: Sorting your collection by price now considers all price types including market value and purchase price, not just listed price. This gives you a more accurate view of your collection's value ordering. • Large Collection Performance: Filtering and searching within sets now works much faster for users with large collections. Previously, some users experienced errors when filtering large set views. • Graded Card Filter: The graded card filter in your collection now works more reliably, especially for users with large collections. • "More Like This" Browsing: Pagination when browsing similar cards has been improved, making it easier to discover related items. • New Follower Emails: When someone new follows you, the notification email now shows cards from their collection even if they don't have items matching your "What I'm Collecting" list. This helps you discover what your new followers are collecting. • Cleaner Card Details Display: The card attributes section for TCG card detail screens has been simplified. Instead of showing Yes/No for every possible attribute, we now only display the relevant attributes that apply to each card, making it much easier to read at a glance. Bug Fixes • Scan+ Search Editing: Fixed an issue where the search text after using Scan+ couldn't be edited—you had to erase the entire query and start over. You can now place your cursor anywhere in the search text to make quick corrections. • Price Input Keyboard: Fixed an issue on some iPhone models where the keyboard would cover the save button when entering an asking price, preventing users from saving their price changes. • Refund Request Notes: Fixed an issue where the buyer's initial note when requesting a refund was not visible in the app. • Seller Balance: Fixed a rare issue that could cause balance adjustment errors when orders were delivered. • Category Filter in Sets View: Fixed an error that occurred when using category filters within the sets view.
