Good, so close to ideal

Way better than previous app(s) from my local Fox affiliate. Video player works pretty well and consistently. Sometimes it will start playing the stream randomly if the app is in the background and FoxLocal’s playback was paused due to preemption by another media app. Please add a native weather map view instead of the web view. I use the map a lot since it has satellite unlike the default weather app. Clunky to use in the tiny web view tho. See the maps in default weather app or HelloWeather for inspiration.

So apparently this “Fox Local” app thinks it’s the keeper of time and reality itself. Twice a day, like some needy ex with commitment issues, it pops up to tell me: “Update required.” Really? Because when I stroll over to the App Store like the obedient little sheep you desperately want me to be, guess what I find? That I’m already on the most current, cutting-edge, bleeding-edge, nothing-left-to-add version. Literally the most updated version in existence. I AM THE UPDATE.So let me get this straight: the app knows it’s updated, the App Store knows it’s updated, and I, a human being with two brain cells rubbing together over morning coffee, know it’s updated. But somehow, you, the actual app, don’t know? Bruh… that’s like a Ferrari insisting it’s a tricycle, or Gordon Ramsay walking into Taco Bell and asking what a taco is.This is digital gaslighting at its finest. “Update required.” No it isn’t, Karen. You’re just broken. Stop asking. You’re like a smoke alarm that goes off when someone makes toast: loud, useless, and unwanted.Fix your app, because right now it’s less “Fox Local” and more “Fox Totally Lost in the Sauce.”Mic. Dropped. BOOM. Nuclear crater where your credibility used to be.

Old post: I keep getting a screen that says “Oops something broke besides news”. I saw other reviews regarding this error. Maybe the developers could fix that error.Update: apparently the issue has been fixed since I am no longer getting that error screen and the app opens like it should. I like the new format now that I’m used to it. And I can open it. 🙂

This is the most problematic app I’ve had in recent memory. Freezes during startup at times. The most annoying issue is when it leaves landscape mode due to slightly moving the phone, you cannot get it back in landscape mode without closing and reopening. Then there are times when you cannot leave landscape mode by tapping the x in the corner. Tapping it directly numerous times and even around it does nothing so once again you need to close the app and reopen. When finishing a news story and trying to get back to the main feed, you need to x out(if it works) tap back button, then exit out once more when it minimizes before you can get back to the main feed.
