Trying to rob you Legally

I have been using ekar since almost 2 years now and their service is absolutely the worst compared to their competitor UDrive. They excessively charge for the mileage. Last week I received 6 random charges on my card For rides that I took almost a month back, all detailing to be mileage charges. Just because they have my card details, they randomly charge me at their convenience. The invoices were raised for an amount close to 150 AED and when my card didn’t have enough funds, they put an additional payment failure fee. They have been charging cleaning charges on all my rides hut the cars are not even cleaned and sanitized regularly. I took 5 rides a day with one car and no one else accessed that car and I was charged a cleaning feel for all of them when clearly no changes were made.

Ekar is literally trying to use any means of extortion possible and will put down surcharges that you are not even aware of. If you’re planning to use Ekar for whatsoever reason, DO NOT. Even a cab ride is more convenient and cheaper.

Horrible Experience - They Wrongly Debited money from my account

Beware of Ekar, they can debit money additional money from your account without your consent or proving any evidence of extra mileage, and when you report the issue to them, they In turn, start telling you to share photo evidence of the Kms before the ride starts & after it ends, once you do that & request them to share the proof as to why they charged you they don’t respond to that and again ask you to share proof with time stamp, now in my case I was easily able to share the same with them, but mind you they still haven’t shared the evidence as to why I was wrongly charged when I asked them again to share the evidence, they simply responded by saying we apologise and will refund the amount back to you, god knows how many people they must have fooled this way !! If you’re planning on using their service I would suggest you’ll to beware & take multiple pictures of the car from inside & outside & even videos for additional proof, incase they charge you incorrectly, I have received an email from them saying that my refund will be processed shortly, for me it’s really not about the money they have charged me but how they have handled this entire situation and the way they made me feel, pestering me to share evidence again and again like I’m some liar, while they themselves haven’t shared their side of the story, they have no sense of accountability whatsoever !!

Stealing money

Rented the car for the first time in my life after hearing about it, rented it for one day (150AED+50AED MG 4x4)to use it for a trip from abu dhabi to dubai and back, after i ended my trip and dropped the car, received a message that they deducted a total of 540AED, when i called the service to ask about explanation, the guy told me that after 125km they charge you per km ( the thing that wasn’t mentioned in a clear way when i rented the car on the App).
During the trip I couldn’t find anywhere to put fuel for free as they have collaboration just with ADNOC and my car went to 5% fuel, so I went to the nearest petrol station in dubai and added 20AED of fuel ( because normally it should be free and included in the price), so I’m not gonna spend extra for that, dropped the car there and left it, after closing it, remembered that i forgot the lights on tried to open it to fix that, but the car was closed and i couldn’t even open it from the App, there was no solution, next day I receive a message and E-mail of another deduction of 300AED ,100AED for Fuel and 200AED for battery ( which is normally covered by insurance for these companies), nothing is clear in their terms and nobody offered me any help, they making traps for you to steal your money. At the end the one day trip costed me almost 900AED which is the price for one month rental for a car normally. Definitely will never take it again.
