Trying to rob you Legally

I have been using ekar since almost 2 years now and their service is absolutely the worst compared to their competitor UDrive. They excessively charge for the mileage. Last week I received 6 random charges on my card For rides that I took almost a month back, all detailing to be mileage charges. Just because they have my card details, they randomly charge me at their convenience. The invoices were raised for an amount close to 150 AED and when my card didn’t have enough funds, they put an additional payment failure fee. They have been charging cleaning charges on all my rides hut the cars are not even cleaned and sanitized regularly. I took 5 rides a day with one car and no one else accessed that car and I was charged a cleaning feel for all of them when clearly no changes were made.

Ekar is literally trying to use any means of extortion possible and will put down surcharges that you are not even aware of. If you’re planning to use Ekar for whatsoever reason, DO NOT. Even a cab ride is more convenient and cheaper.

Horrible Experience - They Wrongly Debited money from my account

Beware of Ekar, they can debit money additional money from your account without your consent or proving any evidence of extra mileage, and when you report the issue to them, they In turn, start telling you to share photo evidence of the Kms before the ride starts & after it ends, once you do that & request them to share the proof as to why they charged you they don’t respond to that and again ask you to share proof with time stamp, now in my case I was easily able to share the same with them, but mind you they still haven’t shared the evidence as to why I was wrongly charged when I asked them again to share the evidence, they simply responded by saying we apologise and will refund the amount back to you, god knows how many people they must have fooled this way !! If you’re planning on using their service I would suggest you’ll to beware & take multiple pictures of the car from inside & outside & even videos for additional proof, incase they charge you incorrectly, I have received an email from them saying that my refund will be processed shortly, for me it’s really not about the money they have charged me but how they have handled this entire situation and the way they made me feel, pestering me to share evidence again and again like I’m some liar, while they themselves haven’t shared their side of the story, they have no sense of accountability whatsoever !!

Worst renting service. Do not use their service as you will be charged for nothing

Rented a car on the 19th of September at 11:42am on daily bases for 114AED, the car was having an engine issue and AC was not cooling off properly knowing that the temperature was around 36 degrees. I have sent an email to customer support with the engine warning video I’m getting on the dashboard and they asked me to end the trip and they will refund me for that day. Since I was in the middle of errands, I was not able to end the trip and kept the car with me until 12:23pm the next day. So I was assuming I’ll be charged for 2 days, where 1 day will be refunded. So basically I accept to be charged for a full day as I used the car 40 mins extra. Then I was surprised to see that they revoked the refund of the first day and charged for 2 complete days instead as they said I didn’t end the trip in the same day as they emailed me. The bigger surprise was when I saw that I’m paying an extra 72 AED as a penalty of not refueling the car knowing that I filled the tank and have a picture of a full tank at the time of returning the trip. I have deleted the application and will go to consumer protection as this is consumer bullying. Having my credit card details does not mean you can charge my card without any ground facts. I have videos and pictures of everything.
