One of the best car rentals in UAE
I seriously made my mind to quit buying a new car because Selfdrive made my life easier by renting out cars of different ranges. I was little reluctant initially so I picked up a basic sedan attrage then after 2 months I got it switched to a compact suv Because Switching cars with no penalty is something I have never heard before. Now I’m one of their loyal customers for more than 2 years. Switched almost 4 of my favorite cars😂 Happily a part of Selfdrive family now and forever. But a ⚠️ warning.. ladies at the customer service is too sweet to handle so beware😉 so go for it cos I have spoken my heart out here ⚠️🤩
Worst Experience Ever Had
I tried selfdrive in Dubai and my experience was not as bad as my experience in Saudi Arabia , my only challenge in Dubai was that the security deposit is taking 2 months from the return date to be refunded then it takes 10 to 15 days to appear in my account…. In Saudi Arabia it’s just a nightmare.. I rented a car with comprehensive insurance they booked me another car “higher model” and used the insurance money to cover the difference, after one month I wanted to extend one more month and I found that extending is more expensive than renting a new car “they told me that I got discount first time, while when im trying to book a new car it’s cheaper “ , they confirm the insurance I bought is a comprehensive insurance while the agency provided me with the car advised it’s third party insurance, after returning the car they didn’t communicate the payment with the hiring agency and the agency reported financial request against me with triple of the rental amount and i had to keep following with the agency and with selfdrive customer service for more than 2 weeks to close the case , their customer service rarely answering the telephone, they always advise calling me back after checking but they never do . I sent many WhatsApp they rarely answered, even emails they don’t reply.
Misleading App - security deposit
Please be aware of the additional charges at the end of the transaction. The full amount is not displayed and there’s integrity issue here while using this app to not disclose the full amount when you pay for the booking amount. I experienced this myself today while making a booking thinking the rental amount is all I will be charged for. Following the first payment deduction I was redirected to a second page where they asked to pay the same amount again to be held as a security deposit. I stopped the transaction and called help desk to request a refund however, they said I will be paying a penalty of 10% due to booking cancellation. I tried to explain that I wasn’t aware of the security deposit and that the total amount should have been displayed at the time we confirmed the booking and made the payment in full and since security deposit wasn’t paid the transaction should not be considered complete but they still refused to refund the amount in full. Complete scam and just finding ways to rip off people. Please be aware that the amount you are requested to pay when completing the booking isn’t the full amount you will be charged as an addition payment will be requested.
