I initially did not want to write a review. However, while I was going through some of the reviews I thought it best to share my experience as I have been using the app for quite some time. I use AT&T in the US. the registration process (sending a text message) works seamlessly every time I had to do it (apprx 4) with phone changes. Other than that initial text, the app works flawlessly on Wi-Fi. I visit India often and switch my phone# using the app to my Indian phone#. This is a great feature for me and I am glad this was introduced. The one problem that I would like the app to support is to be able to view ALL recurring payments via the app. Right now it only shows those made via the app. This would really help. Lastly, I applaud the team as they have incrementally made app a very useful tool for customers (at least for me) to take care of a lot of things that used to be quite painful initially.

The biggest issue with Axis bank is that all the security burden is pushed on to the user so that the company management need not take up any responsibility of security. The CEO should resign immediately for overseeing the implementation of such retrograde and convoluted security procedures! I’ve never seen a company moving backwards from an acceptable level to a completely inoperable level. The app used to work fine before the brilliant brainwave of an imbecile IT architect who designed this unfathomable SMS based security that does not work on US based phones and also requires WiFi to be switched off. To top it off, the site cannot be used on the PC browser due to this bewildering requirement for an OTP from the mobile app (which does not work in the first place) even for PC usage! Besides excluding NRIs, the mandate for an SMS based activation or mobile app OTP (not a sms or email otp as is normal) excludes those who are unable to operate or afford a smartphone even for PC or cyber cafe usage. I was able to use the app smoothly with top grade security for more than 10 years and now this inexplicable IT security implementation that is making it impossible to use this app. My advise to NRIs is do not open an Axis bank account and if you do have one open an account in another bank right away. Also, activate the share holder activist network as Ashish Chowdhury needs to step down. We are not going tolerate incompetency any more. Every axis bank employee should look for another job and refuse to work at this abomination!

App supposed to be user friendly and have customer support

I’m trying to login to my account since it moved from citi to axis. When I try to login it’s asking me to turn off WiFi (how good the design is, almost everyone nowadays uses WiFi to access everything). It’s trying to link my mobile to account which I already had linked to citi but not getting otp. It’s asking me to send a msg to some numbers but there’s literally no response. Not sure what’s the purpose. I started to doubt we are in digital era. In the name of security basic user friendly functions are not working. Website is timing out in minutes and while trying to login again, getting some weird errors. It’s taking too much time to make even a single transaction of menu selection. Worst app.

Completely Broken for NRI Customers

This app is a nightmare for NRIs. Installation from the US fails because SMS verification tries sending codes to random Indian numbers and always returns failed delivery. Customer support is useless, and the chat system doesn’t even allow entering US phone numbers.To make matters worse, the bank does not allow normal net banking login anymore. Even when you enter your login ID and password correctly, it forces OTP authentication that can only be received inside this broken app — making access to your own account impossible from abroad.It’s shocking that a major bank has such a poorly designed, non-functional system for international customers. Until Axis Bank fixes these fundamental flaws, this app is nothing but a barrier to banking.
